As the sun sets on another year, I can’t help but look back on one of my favorite adventures to date. The Greece and Turkey October Vision Trip was truly one I will never forget, not simply because of the amazing views it offered, but because of the incredible people who warmed my heart. I can’t wait to see what 2026 offers with new friends and (as always) new adventures. ♥️

It’s officially three weeks post-surgery, and I’ve finally decided to share a glimpse into my journey. At the beginning of this year, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis, an underfunded and understudied condition that eventually took over every aspect of my life with bone aching fatigue and endless amounts of pain. It took about three years for a proper diagnosis after my symptoms began, with two of those being the hardest of my life. For where I used to run 10 miles a day, I fell into dragging myself to the gym just to walk, and then finally quitting altogether, just to have a tiny enough amount of energy to make it to work and then come home and crash. My entire life shifted to accommodate an anti-inflammatory lifestyle, with endless hours of rest that still left me feeling exhausted when I woke up.

I consider myself fortunate, one of the lucky ones, because I had a wonderful doctor who recognized my symptoms as Endometriosis, truly believed my pain, and most importantly a husband who stood beside me and everything I said. Thanks to a recommendation from a friend, we found one of the sweetest doctors I’ve ever known to perform a full excision surgery. Her team was incredible and so kind. They successfully removed three good sized (but thankfully shallow) patches of Endometriosis, two small fibroids, and diagnosed me with Adenomyosis as well.

A big happy 32nd birthday to the most amazing man I know. Thank you for always being there for our family whether it be through helping me at markets or throwing the ball for Mabel a million times. You never cease to make me laugh or hold me when days are dark. You have more honor than Dalinar Kholin himself. I love you so much and I can’t wait to see what this year holds for you. Also, a big shout out to Mabel Babel for doing a 13 mi birthday hike for you and not complaining once (okay, maybe a couple of times.) by @studio_b_trowbridge
