THE LAST OF HER KIND
EXTINCT IS FOREVER
Sculpture wood stone 15”x 8” x4”
Photo no. 4 shows the original idea for the base. I wanted something abstract to represent man, that contrasts with the organic nature of the organism. I don’t like the ‘look’ so decided to go with stone which is also organic, thus completing the scene, and letting the title tell the story.
This may yet change. I’m open to opinions on which works best.

MOTHER (tentative)
Sculpture; wood, ebony stain, lacquer 2026
I have this thing about titles. On the one hand they can rein in the viewers imagination and point of view, and on the other you want to rein in the viewers imagination to your point of view, ie., the subject matter. I had a specific idea in mind when I did this; a mother guiding her child (son) through life. Does the black portray mother, or even life? I think you’d generally say no. But the black here is for three conscious reasons; practicality, power of the piece, and mystery. You do the rest.

UNTITLED
2025-26
Collage This could have been finished this past year, but for some reason I couldn’t finish anything I started. The drive, desire, motivation, something was missing. I couldn’t decide if pieces were finished, or worthy of the effort. The year was a struggle of completion; lots of ideas, but….
However, I’m resolved to move forward, which means letting go of a lot of things.
I would love to do some of my large works. If someone would like to pay for some bronze, let me know.

SCULPTURE MAQUETTES
I’m currently working on a series of sculptures inspired by water-carved canyon walls, bones, stones, and rotted trees. They are of different scales, with some intending to be pedestal size, others meant to be 12 to15 feet in height.
Some are wanting to be of wood, others bronze, and some of stone.
