Why “treoir”

We wanted to create something that meant more than just jewellery.

Something made to last.
A piece you could buy for yourself or gift to someone you love when they’re far from home - something I wish I’d been given.

Because being Irish abroad means carrying home with you in so many little ways - through our language, our stories, our traditions and the people we miss.

Treoir means guidance in Irish, inspired by the North Star and the Claddagh.

A reminder that even when you’re finding your way somewhere new, you’re never far from where you came from.

six months in the making & a little surprise still to come ....

what you don’t see behind a piece of jewellery is the process.

the designing, creating the moulds, reimagining & reusing moulds across different pieces, turning our north star charm into hoops, refining the fit and getting the length just right.

we added, we took away, we tested and we tweaked. even adding three adjustable jump hoops to our bracelet to fit more slender wrists.

and why sterling silver? because i wanted to create timeless pieces made to last, jewellery you can wear for years to come and that becomes part of your story.

six months of getting the details right. because it’s never just about how a piece looks, but how it feels to wear it.

this is the part of small business you don’t always see.

Absolutely crazy from start to finish!

The crowds, the chats, the support… it was honestly incredible to see so many people come out and support Melbourne’s first Irish market.

I thought I’d be filming all day, but there was barely a second to pick up my phone! 😂

So grateful to everyone who stopped by, supported Studio Byrne and all the other stalls which made the day so special.

I went home with barely any content… but a very full heart. 🤍🇮🇪

When we launched our jewellery collection, we honestly didn’t know what to expect.

Studio Byrne began with candles - a way to bring a little piece of Ireland into homes around the world. Jewellery was something we’d dreamed about, but we never imagined it would become such a loved part of our story.

Seeing so many of you choosing to wear Irish words every day has been incredibly special.

These aren’t just necklaces. They’re reminders of who you are, where you’ve come from, and the values you carry with you - whether you’re in Ireland or on the other side of the world.
