Ontmoet onze ambassadeur Ilfa!
Creating is your thing. Supporting you is ours. We staan naast jullie.
‘On the road' is a material study about residual streams of the Dutch flower industry. From this, a capsule collection of wonderfully soft clothing pieces was created, made from silks and comfortable cotton. The collection includes flowy dresses and tops made of 100% silk with zero waste pattern designs. It has lovely tricot pants with high waists and comfy elastic band that cocoons wonderfully around your body. We also gave existing 100% silk garments a second life by 'reviving' them. We repaired the garments where necessary and transformed them with a dye bath, bundle dye or whitening, using a more eco-friendly bleaching recipe that does not involve chlorine. All pieces are unique and hand dyed or crafted. The release and sale of the collection is during Amsterdam Fashion Week. #DdTakeover DAY 3
One of the projects I am working on is Living Colour, which explores the use of bacterial pigments as a replacement for toxic dyes in the fashion industry. The goal of Living Colour is to integrate bacteria-dyed textiles into the fashion and textile industry, striving to create tangible products that captivate consumers and tell an intriguing story. Our goal is to raise awareness not only about our dyes, but also about the current dyeing industry. By producing natural colors using bacterial pigments, we want to contribute to an ecologically conscious approach to color. One of the collaborations we have had is with the sports brand Puma.

#DdTakeover DAY 2
From my design studio, I have specialized in doing research on new sustainable materials and techniques that can serve as an alternative to the current system, which often relies heavily on oil-based raw materials. With this, I strive for a future where we use renewable resources and help companies take this step to become future-proof. I think it is essential to get the message out through materials research and designing tangible products to make it accessible to the market. An example of this is my work with waste streams, turning them into valuable raw materials with new applications. I also focus on innovation, such as exploring new applications and reinterpreting existing technologies with a sustainability perspective. See here a little sneak peek of the shoot we had last Monday that I dyed together with @lise.vandenbos . The textiles are dyed with waste residues from the Dutch flower industry. This Friday is the release at the Hub during Fashion Week! Will you stop by?
