1926-2026 Celebrating El Caracol’s 100 year old birthday with some new drawings and photographs. Studio Shell has prided itself in stewarding this home into a new century. We love bringing out the details and character in historic architecture.

Maybe a Centennial bash sometime this year?

🐚 House progress report: dubbed El Caracol as an obvious play on a shell motif but also for her Solomonic twisting columns 🐌 . Two years in and the exterior work is done. Still some finishing flourishes to come. Drawing from the classical but through a whimsical tropical lens, @studio_shell_ is currently working on prototyping finials inspired by urns and acroterion that adorn parapets and eaves in classical architecture as well as a weathervane inspired by villas of Italy. The goal is to finish within the next calendar year as 2026 will mark her 100th birthday! .

Courtyard views of House for an Arborist featuring a central wood burning fireplace. From the street this house has a low brow and traditional shingle style bungalow facade. The roofline is sliced towards the rear creating this spectacular double height glass wall that opens up to the heart of the home…the courtyard. taken in Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida by @studio_shell_
