Sky views of various archaeological sites in Central-North Sardinia.

Inspired by aerial archaeology as a methodological tool for both scientific documentation and speculative imagination, like the controversial crop circle phenomenon of the ‘80s and ‘90s, @stellakamikaze became or drone operator to scout graphic and abstract patterns from above, wherever Google Maps brought us into the middle of nowhere and our eyes could find more than grass, trees and abandoned dusty trails.

Fairy spreads of the Old Rocks shot last year in Sardinia for the @salietabacchijournal new issue 🗿🧚
“I began to see something in the Old Rocks at the end of 2024. An article published in Internazionale talks about a story I know absolutely nothing about: that of the Giants of Mont’e Prama. They are anthropomorphic statues found buried in 1974 near Cabras, in northwestern Sardinia. They look like caricatures: there are archers, warriors, boxers. They have friendly faces and no one has any idea what they are or why they are there. A few years ago, in 2018, people argued over whether to call them Giants or Heroes. They cannot decide for themselves, for two reasons: the first is that they are statues, and statues have never decided much of anything. The second is that they belong to the archaeological heritage of the Nuragic civilization, a thousand years of people and cultures who lived in Sardinia between 1700 and 700 BC. They left us no written traces, and for this reason every time we stumble upon one of their old rocks, there is much whispering about the why and how that rock came down to us. [...] The gaze of pseudo-archaeology is the same that seduced us, too, to the point of endangering the feasibility of our expedition itself. Before leaving, we tried to speculate, arrogating to ourselves the right to discover something that others hadn’t yet discovered. [...] A spirit of discovery so sincere, curious, and ignorant that it almost led us to reject the request for shooting authorization from the Archaeological Superintendence of Sassari. All to find meaning, finally, in the Old Rocks. False, misleading, but meaningful nonetheless. Everything we could imagine had already been imagined by others, with words and signs vague enough to leave a bit of space for us, too. That was all we could do to find a reason to depart. For a few moments, that possibility had become the only thing that mattered in our days.”

Excerpt from the wonderful story written by @stellakamikaze about our project.

Pedaling through Senegal hits different. Red roads, sandy tracks, endless straights, salt flats, baobabs and people playing football at every corner waving at you as you pass.
We took it slow and took time to soak in the culture, and that made all the difference.
This trip wasn’t just about the miles.
We rode alongside the work that the Sunugal association is doing on the ground here and honestly, it put everything in perspective.
Senegal gave us a lot. We’re trying to give a little back.

Prova a guardare il muro. Guardalo. A cosa stai pensando? Riesci a pensarci?
No, non tornare qui. Insisti.
Cambia scheda, Alt+Tab. Devo andare in bagno. È ora di una sigaretta. Alt+Tab.

Anderson Wright directs ‘The Diver’.

The Diver follows Yasuo Takamatsu twelve years after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, as he continues to search the depths of the Pacific for his wife’s remains — an act that becomes both a meditation on love and a ritual of remembrance. Through delicate and intimate imagery, the film transforms grief into a quiet presence that lingers in every frame, revealing the strength of love that endures beyond absence.
