I work as both an artist and printmaking stationer and as a graphic designer.  Working for brands as well as for discerning private weddings and events, I unite skillsets from two seemingly disparate specialisms. I marry them through my driving creative principle - bold simplicity.  Bold simplicity is to render beauty in the most refined way possible.  In every project I strive to condense, to distill, to express with cut-glass clarity and the purest beauty I can. To create artworks which are daring, unique, and stripped of conceit. This is what my clients expect, whether bride and groom or commercial enterprise. Because this isn’t just stationery, or a new logo. This is a bespoke artwork created for unique communication. My clients want lasting art, not generically adorned stationery there simply to deliver instruction. I believe in creating work to value. This speaks from artistic integrity, but also from eco-consciousness. I want to create beautiful things; things to be kept and enjoyed, not recycled when the confetti is swept up and the glasses cleared. To refine to the essence - what I term bold simplicity - means to consider, in detail, even the most subtle choices. One choice, pertinent to printmaker, artist and designer alike, sits at the foundation of the work - the paper.  Because I don’t believe that paper artwork is two-dimensional.  The vehicle which delivers the message is integral to the art. It is a formative decision. Textured and tactile, it can be picked up, the grain of the paper beneath your fingertips, a miniature contoured landscape of embossed letters and silken inks. Just as typography is the vehicle for the message being communicated, paper is the vehicle for the artwork, which cannot exist without it. Diving into these details with and for my clients is what drives me to create. Working with the invitation design by @theresapaperie, I created artwork for the wedding day. It was a joy to bring this creative to life, using Mia’s signature style and incorporating illustrations by the bride’s nephew. A thoughtful collaboration that brings a personal touch to the finished piece. Maeve & Jasper had a clear vision for an effortlessly cool wedding, bringing together the tradition of the ceremony with the spirit of a modern celebration. The stationery is full of personality, with a vibrant colour palette that echoes the energy of the florals. There’s something special about collaborating with creatives whose artistic sensibilities align so naturally with your own. The rich art history surrounding Apollo’s Muse informs the bookmark design for these place cards, where the language of classical architecture and Greco-Roman numerals finds contemporary expression. Classical and modern design converge throughout my work, bringing timeless elegance and historical depth to a distinctive aesthetic. This dialogue between heritage and the present defines my approach, weaving the narrative of art history into every detail. For celebrations defined by craftsmanship, bespoke stationery becomes part of the design story.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Art Direction @studioanika Photographer @storiesbychloe ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #stationerydesign #weddingtablesetting #weddingmenu #luxurybrides #luxuryinvitations by @studioanika
A postcard from the coast, capturing the spirit of the couple’s travels through a bold, sun drenched invitation. Warm yellows meet cool Mediterranean blues, echoing the vivid florals and the endless meeting of sea and sky. The hand drawn sun and wave motif, created with the couple’s initials, brings the landscape into the stationery. A personal signature that captures the carefree spirit of an Italian summer, where every detail feels touched by the warmth of the sun. A little piece of the landscape, brought to life on paper. I believe the most meaningful work comes from understanding the people behind it. There is something particularly special about seeing that connection reflected in my clients’ words, knowing that the thought, artistry and intention behind each design have resonated with them. ‘From the very beginning Anika made sure she understood not only what we wanted from our wedding stationery, but who we are as a couple. Her process is seamless and her end results are incredible. We couldn’t recommend Anika enough if you are looking for someone to put time and effort into your wedding stationery.’ If you’re looking for a design approach that brings together artistic expression and thoughtful strategy, I’d love to begin the conversation. Scale becomes its own language. The towering floral arches fill the architecture of Euridge Manor, their monumental forms creating a sense of theatre and movement within the space. That same play with proportion carries through to the stationery, where whimsical floral drawings shift in scale, becoming exaggerated, expressive forms across the paper. From the vastness of the florals to the smallest details on the table, composition brings the two together. An interplay of scale, form and movement. So many chapters precede the final artistic vision. Explored and developed in ateliers across the country, these stories are then brought together backstage to unite in the ultimate spectacle. The polish of this runway is an artifice; a curated expression of perfection. United by their artist’s eye for balance, this project also brings Wilden London, Hair by Duboux and Studio Anika to an intersection of expression through texture. All three work with pliable forms, playing with structure and fluidity, poise and sinuous movement, dynamism and control. The true story is built in the subtext: the long hours of endeavour and artistry, intuition and expertise which result in this performative moment on the runway. Intimacy behind the final runway is pulled into the limelight in this unique showcase, which exposes the human hands behind high artistry. This is a Behind the Scenes unveiling of the storytelling which culminates in the final narrative of the iconic runway. Artistry from couture wedding dress designer Wilden London, renowned hair stylist Hair by Duboux is expressed through texture and tactility. Showcasing a bespoke textile flower created by Wilden to utilise distinct and expressive textures, the invitation invokes the storytelling central to this runway showcase. By allowing the soft blousy fluidity of the flower to sit in direct contrast to the sharp lines of the paper, the story, Expressions of Tactility, is made central. The tactility of the piece reminds the viewer that the craftwork leading up to this moment is just as much a focus as the final expression on the runway.
