Three forms, one overlap. Where terracotta meets oxblood and dissolves into charcoal, the palette does what we ask of a suite: warmth up top, depth underneath, no hard edges between them.

Colour is the first material we specify. Everything else follows.

Art Deco is confidence in material form.

Born in Paris in the 1920s and built for a world that believed in the future, it speaks in sunbursts, chevrons, stepped silhouettes and fans. Everything is symmetrical and everything is polished: lacquer, brass, chrome, marble, and inlay so exact it looks poured. The glamour is deliberate, and so is the restraint.

What makes it glorious is that the ornament is never an afterthought. The geometry is the decoration, and the decoration is the structure. A lobby, a staircase, a doorknob, all designed as if someone cared about how you’d feel walking past.

A century later, it still reads as luxury. Bold lines, rich materials, and a sense of occasion we keep coming back to.

Patinated copper. We love it without reservation.

Verdigris spreading across a roofline. Brass gone dark and soft at the edges. Bronze polished by a thousand hands. Every piece ages differently, and none of it can be faked. A finish can imitate the look, but it can’t reproduce the years.

Something that ages like that isn’t wearing out. It’s art.

A pod, held in glass.

Beans crystallize inside a vessel shaped like something grown, not made. Watercolor haze. Bubbles caught mid-breath, suspended at the moment of emergence.

SEED by @agar_archive.

Familiar in form. Estranged in material.
Hazy. Solid. Gently breathing.

An invitation to observe, to reflect, to reconnect.

LS-120 ‘Lotus’ Table Lamp by Carlo Nason

An opal sphere glowing inside rippling domes of smoked glass. Amber in one, lilac in the other. Nothing else in the room needs to compete.

Purpur. An exploration of colour, texture and craftsmanship.

Overglaze painting has been practised for centuries, and it still does what nothing else can: rich pigment, laid down by hand, fired until the colour takes on real depth and intensity. Every brushstroke is a decision the kiln will not let you undo.

Fire as a finishing touch.

Shou Sugi Ban is the centuries-old Japanese technique of charring cedar to protect it. The flame creates a carbon layer that helps the wood resist rot, insects, moisture, and even fire, so it can last for decades with very little upkeep.

What we love most is that the protection is also the beauty. Each board comes out with its own deep, velvety black, and sometimes a textured, alligator-skin grain. Brushed and oiled, it can shift from matte charcoal to a soft, glossy sheen.

It’s proof that the most enduring things are often shaped by restraint, patience, and a little fire.

Have you seen it in person? Tell us where. 👇

Twenty-one feet of bronze, with a working fireplace built in.

This piece from @wallawallafoundry started as a 3D model, then was printed, embellished by hand by the artist, lost wax cast, and finished in patina. The result stands 255” tall and weighs more than 13,500 lbs.

We’re big appreciators of sculpture, and of the people who can make metal behave like this. It’s craft at the scale where it stops being an object and becomes a place.

Mondrian Singapore. One of our favorites.

The Shop House Suites took home an AHEAD Asia award in 2024 and we’re still a little smug about it. A Singapore shophouse is a lot of character to work with, and we wanted every room to feel like the building had been waiting for it.

Swipe to see the spaces we designed.

Mosaics are the only art form where breaking something is step one.

Hundreds of tiny fragments, each one a little wrong on its own, until they sit side by side and suddenly make sense. Color, scale, rhythm, light: all of it decided one piece at a time. It’s the closest thing in design to playing with your food, and the results hold up for a few thousand years.

We love it for the same reason we love a good material palette. Every tile is a decision, and the joy is in the juxtapositions: matte against gloss, a quiet stone beside a flash of glass, a clean edge interrupted by something rebellious.

Spaces are just larger sculptures. Mosaics are where the sculpture gets to be playful.

What would you build if you were handed a bucket of broken tile?
