POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Café Kiek / my first restaurant interior project, in collaboration with @binibabs .

Designing a restaurant had been on my wish list for quite some time. As my work has gradually shifted from reselling vintage design furniture towards interior styling and design, this felt like the perfect opportunity to combine both worlds.

Designing a hospitality space is about so much more than creating something beautiful. Every decision has to balance aesthetics with functionality. How many tables and chairs fit comfortably? How do you work within a budget? A bar stool might look great, but if guests are expected to sit there all evening, comfort becomes just as important as its appearance.

Together with the owner of Café Kiek and Noortje from Binibabs, we developed an interior where functionality, character, vintage design and a welcoming atmosphere come together. Every furniture piece was carefully sourced to create a space that feels warm and unique.

We created the entire interior concept from start to finish, making all decisions regarding colours, fabrics, materials and furniture to bring the vision to life. I’ll share more about the design process and sourcing journey in an upcoming reel, but for now, we’re excited to show you the finished result.

Copper table lamp by Franco Bastianelli for Laurana Rame d’Arte, 1960s

The name “Rame d’Arte” translates to artistic copper, highlighting both the solidity of its metal construction and the heritage of fine handmade Italian metalwork. Unique cut-outs, an expressive twisted base, and colorful enamel define this lamp. It feels less like a lamp and more like a true work of art in your living room.

You’ve all been curious to see what a buying day looks like!

I have to say that most buying trips don’t look as romantic like this one. But that’s only because we stayed at a nice Airbnb because we were also on holiday. Anyway, here’s a recap of day 1!

When it’s just a quick buying trip, the only thing you will see are motorways, gas stations, ugly hotels and very quick dinners. ☝️

This painting is still a mystery!

Inspiration round - kitchens! 💥

I really like to make these inspiration posts a lot. As you can see, the kitchens in the 70s are a big inspiration for kitchens right now! Lots of stainless steel and wood. But I have to say, they were not afraid to make bold choices! I love that so much. Also nice to read that a lot of these kitchens were designed by very famous designers like Angelo Mangiarotti and Tito Agnoli.

A blue high gloss floor? Lacquered wood? A blue round kitchen? Why not!

Let me know what I should collect for you next week.

Pair of vintage wood-veneered cabinets, 1970s, Italy

2 pcs available

These two cabinets would make a beautiful addition to a living room, hallway, bedroom, or even a kitchen. They can be styled in so many different ways. My favorite would be to use them in a kitchen, styled with beautiful tableware and ceramics. Behind the sliding doors, there’s plenty of storage space.

They are in used vintage condition.

(In this video I paired them with two beautiful velvet blue striped armchairs from Italy, also available)
