WE’VE MOVED

Studio Co & Co has a new home at 32 Wilson Ave, Brunswick.

It’s a little rough around the edges right now, but we have big plans.

Follow along as we transform the space, build our new studio and make it our own. The next chapter starts here.

Yay!!!! Our Bradford project has been shortlisted in the Residential Single category at this years @ausdesignreview IDEA Awards.

When hospitality is part of how you live, it naturally extends beyond restaurants and into the home. For Zoe Rubino and Emilio Scalzo, whose Italian heritage is grounded in food, gathering and generosity, the brief was clear. Their home needed to welcome people in, feed them well, host easily, and still feel like a place to retreat with their young daughter.

Thrilled and honoured to have been shortlisted for Emerging Designer of the Year at the @ausdesignreview IDEA Awards.

It’s really special to be recognised alongside such an incredible group of designers.

It’s been a long, twisty path to the place I find myself in now, and all of those routes and detours have made our studio what it is, with its own flavour and way of seeing the world.

I get to create spaces every day that make the dumpster fire of a world a little more bearable for people. Places to gather or retreat. To feel less lonely or to find some much-needed solace. A space that makes someone feel safer or seen. A little world created just for them.

And I get to create these spaces alongside an incredible team @kristina_tsalikis and @harrwil, who bring their own ideas, talent and weirdness to everything we do.

Thank you @ausdesignreview and @alvinpwu, and to the jury @danielboddam @akinatelier @dmespiritu @shaunlockyerarchitects @foolscapstudio @dko_architecture for the recognition. It means a bloody lot ❤️

What an absolute thrill to have Bradford featured in @vogueliving. It’s a project that holds such a special place for us.

Working alongside our wonderful clients Zoe and Emilio, we set out to honour the bones of this historic Victorian terrace while creating something deeply personal, theatrical, and just a little bit mad.

From the floating "cloud" cabinet in the kitchen to the jewel-toned glass artwork by @foolsglass framing the bedroom doorway, every detail was designed to feel like an experience. Art, architecture, and joinery working as one.

Built to perfection by Andy Ward and Lauren Henderson, with gorgeous shots by the talented @seanfennessy

Huge thank you to the team at Vogue for telling this story so beautifully 🙏

One sheet. 4.5 metres. One chance to get the fold right.

A press brake can't bend a curve, so the curved sections are welded by hand. And with stainless at this length, heat management is everything — too much and the sheet buckles. There's no fixing that without starting again.

Most stainless work in hospitality gets a commercial-grade finish. Fast welds, visible polishing marks, sheet distortion that everyone just accepts. But build costs are where they are now, and clients aren't accepting "good enough" anymore.

35 years in this industry means we know the old techniques and we've got the new technology. The tumbled finish on these benchtops and floating shelves is a multi-step process, all done by hand, designed specifically for high-traffic hospitality.

The weld disappears. The surface holds up. That's the standard.
