Signs should be beautiful. We recently completed a project with Gavino Dermatology that was all about finding the perfect balance between brand presence and architectural elegance. Working alongside S. Tipton Studio, we crafted a sign package custom-tailored to the space. The reception sign is a 71" x 59" custom cabinet that plays with light and texture. Dimmable 3000K LEDs illuminate the routed-out, push-through logo and is finished with an intricate metallic gold lattice pattern. Reverse-lit edge lighting delivers a beautiful warm glow on all sides of the cabinet. Treatment room identifiers feature the same metallic gold lattice theme. Matching ADA signs provide a consistent high-end experience from the lobby to the back of the house. Our big "wow" moment comes from a very unexpected and unconventional solution that was a first for us. This super-custom sign cabinet is recessed into the sheetrock of the wall and made completely invisible behind the linen wall covering. When it's on, the logo with it's detailed lattice pattern is magically revealed on the wall. What might first appear to be a projection is anything but. 10 years in, we have never done something like this and we couldn't be happier with the results. We are still impressed with how beautiful the entire space came together. #interiordesign #signdesign #receptionsign #studiodzo #dogoodwork by @studiodzo

A short timelapse of us installing the @roxiesbuda sign in Buda, Texas. What looks quick on video actually takes a lot of planning and coordination, all of which begins with design. Understanding the vision and considering every detail before and during the entire design phase is what made this installation go so smoothly. The team at @helms_workshop developed the brand for Roxie's and we were excited to have them on site to see her go up. Learn more about the Roxie's sign in the July/August edition of @signsofthetimesmag - Link in bio. #SignDesign #DesignStudio #DesignInspiration #Timelapse #Installation Fabrication Architectural DoGoodWork taken in Roxie's Buda by @studiodzo

Signs are a team sport. From design to fabrication to installation, every sign, no matter how big or small, requires a number of skilled and talented individuals before it goes up. So, it's a huge win to see the sign we did for @roxiesbuda featured on the cover of this month's edition of @signsofthetimesmag. The amazing brand identity crafted by @helms_workshop set our team up to design and fab this showstopper, but it was the knowledge, expertise, and diligence (stubbornness) of @liztoynes and our Project Manager Kristina Freres that made this project the success that it is. To some, sign code and permitting officials are opponents that must be defended against. Us vs. them. Creativity vs. Policy. But we approach obstacles as opportunities. To quote Orson Welles, "The enemy of art is the absence of limitations". Offense or defense, every sign and project requires that every one of us play our position. Excited to share some of the process behind one of the coolest projects we've been part of, the Saturn .V. Prototown is just a 45 min drive south of Austin in Lockhart TX. What started out as a wild idea, became a reality with a whole lot of math and design, some aluminum and welding, many many gallons of paint, and even more sweat (and a little tears). A repurposed 96' tall water tower is on its way to becoming a half scale replica of the NASA Saturn V. (Thus the name Saturn .V) Autographed by astronaut and moonwalker Charlie Duke. 👩🏻‍🚀🚀🌕 We'll be sharing more. #SignDesign #bts #designstudio #designinspiration #dogoodwork taken in Lockhart, Texas by @studiodzo

An interior sign should compliment its space. When you walk into @trudentistrysouthcongress you're immediately welcomed with warmth. We designed this custom illuminated interior sign that features a recessed face and push-through acrylic. Avocado green contrasted with a gold adds depth and refinement, while warm white illumination delivers a soft welcoming glow. Not a complex sign, but the details and finish subtly elevate the entire experience, and bring the perfect finishing touch for an already beautifully designed space. #SignDesign #DesignStudio #DesignInspiration #DoGoodWork by @studiodzo

Sign spotting in London reminds us that, large or small, signs are part of what expresses the personality to a city. From centuries-old pub signs to building-sized murals and add, the city is full of examples where design, typography, materiality, and architecture play together. We travel to study these moments and bring that level of intentionality back to our work. #DesignInspiration #DesignStudio #Travel #DoGoodWork #SignDesign taken in London, England by @studiodzo

Sign spotting in Paris has confirmed that every detail matters. From elegant storefront lettering to iconic metro signage, the city demonstrates how every detail; texture, sheen, color, material, and placement intentionally work with the architecture to communicate. #DesignInspiration #DesignStudio #Travel #DoGoodWork #SignDesign taken in Paris, France by @studiodzo

Interior sign for our friends with the Whole Foods Market Foundation. The warm natural tones of routed birch plywood pairs beautifully with the soft matte white painted faces. A welcoming presence that is intentionally understated. A great example of how branded environments don't have to shout to make an impact. Some of the most effective solutions are the ones that subtly but confidently exist within a space. #SignDesign #DesignStudio #DesignInspiration #DoGoodWork by @studiodzo

We travel because signs can be found in every corner of the globe. Along our travels through Portugal we noticed certain signs just felt born of the city itself. New and old; color, typography, style, concept, signage beautifully coexists with the urban landscape. The best inspiration often comes from simply paying attention and looking around #DesignInspiration #DesignStudio #Travel #DoGoodWork #SignDesign taken in Portugal by @studiodzo

We're Truly excited to see this mural come to life for Tru Dentistry on South Congress. What started as an idea is now making its mark on the space, adding personality, color, and a memorable first impression for visitors. This is just one piece of a larger project, and we can't wait to share more of the design details soon. Stay tuned—there's more to smile about. 😁 #DesignStudio #SignDesign #Mural #Transition #DoGoodWork by @studiodzo
