A rebrand means exactly that: parting ways with an old identity to make room for a new one.

With Sézane’s new direction, I think that’s an important part of the conversation. Morgane Sézalory has spoken about getting older and wanting the brand to reflect a more mature aesthetic and you can clearly see that evolution in the latest pieces.

Look a little closer, though, and there’s another shift happening. Yes, the prices have gone up. But from what I’ve seen so far, there also seems to be more emphasis on materials like wool and leather, and little to no reliance on acrylics and synthetics.

Am I a fan of the collection? Yes.
Am I a fan of the prices? Not particularly. But that conversation goes well beyond Sézane; prices across fashion have increased considerably.

What I’m really interested in is what the rebrand could mean for secondhand Sézane.

Could ā€œold Sézaneā€ eventually become a category of its own? Think old Céline — pieces associated with a particular era of a brand that become even more desirable once that era is gone.

There’s already nostalgia around pieces like the Barry cardigan and the Sézane aesthetic of a few years ago. If the brand continues moving away from that identity, those older pieces could become increasingly sought after on the resale market.

But there’s one big question: will Sézane keep producing its classics?

If Barry, Gaspard and the other signatures remain permanent fixtures, the effect might be limited. If they slowly disappear as the new Sézane takes shape? That could be a very different secondhand story.

Only time will tell — but I’ll definitely be watching the resale market. šŸ‘€ taken in Montreal, Quebec by @studioedition_

This is why you’re doing vintage wrong šŸ‘‡
1. You’re shopping the tag size, not your measurements. Vintage sizing runs 2–4 sizes smaller than modern and sometimes times may have shrunk in the wash then posted. Always check the measurements in any listing!
2. You’re checking the brand before the fabric. Flip it inside out first. 100% wool, silk, or cashmere in no-name beats polyester in a designer label every time.
3. You’re skipping the ā€œboringā€ sections. Blazers, wool coats, silk blouses can be reworn so many times.
4. Look at comps on all platforms! Make sure the price is right for the condition .
Save this for your next hunt. Which mistake are you guilty of? Be honest šŸ‘‡

POV: your travel fund is just everything you saved buying secondhand āœˆļø

Real talk — nobody mentions this part. Every consignment find is money that stays in my pocket instead of going to a markup.

This trip? Paid for by a closet full of secondhand.

Where would your savings take you? šŸ‘‡

I really shouldn’t do this but I’m not a gatekeeper. I love French girl style mainly because of the fabrics used; mohair, wool, cotton etc. So here are brands that give Sézane energy without everyone already knowing about them šŸ‡«šŸ‡·

Some of the best French fashion is already sitting in the resale market.

Save this for your next secondhand hunt šŸ”Ž

The answer is simple… secondhand shopping šŸ˜‚

Apparently my therapist is a vintage rack, a good thrift find, and the tiny rush of finding something no one else has. Cheaper than therapy? Debatable. Better dressed? Absolutely.

Happy first day of fall! A look back at some of my favourite places and outfits from past years. Isn’t this one of the best views?

My favourite handmade oyster earrings I got from a small store in Barcelona back in 2018-19. I wear them so much! That’s why quality is so important!

I sold this coat in my store on @poshmarkcanada and now I regret it! I love this teddy jacket. Maybe I’ll try to find it again!

A jumpsuit is so easy for fall. Throw on some sneakers and you’re good to go!

Luxury thrift finds šŸ‘€ a bag that last years

A pandemic throwback. I really tried natural hair and I actually love it.

I regret not buying this top from a vintage store! Such a cute peplum top.

And finally another amazing view of Switzerland. šŸ‡ØšŸ‡ taken in Montreal, Quebec by @studioedition_
