Happy international women's day! Today I bring you another portrait of a generation of my family, namely my great-grandmother. She was like a real life barbie doll that put on makeup, her favorite jaguar print and jewelry even if I just came by to have some tea, so I had some good practice painting fabric and gold with this one. When I asked her to sit for a portrait years ago she immediately got excited and we made it a whole photoshoot.

Fun fact: She loved books, and would always read the ending first because otherwise she would get all nervous about how the story would end (yes impatience is genetic)

My grandmother was an amazing woman who was always there for everyone around her. After she passed I made this portrait of her to remember how loving and beautiful she was. She was the kind of grandma I could laugh with, that gave me advice when I needed it and was always welcoming and open. Reminder to send some love to your granny's out there! ❤️

Super happy to finally finish this piece inspired by photography by @amy.kloosterman! You all overwhelmingly voted for a blue background so here it is 💙
Maybe I should try to do a portrait in this style again? Or more like this? Let me know what you all think :)

As an artist there are days where I have less inspiration and I've discovered that letting myself just paint away and creating abstract landscapes allows me to transform that lack of inspiration into a creative challenge for myself. I'm having so much fun creating these kinds of pieces where I have no idea what it will look like by the end.

This canvas was also my first experiment with airbrush! Thanks @haroldstreekstra
@maarten.streekstra @foresthorsman @schouderham123 for the awesome birthday gift! ❤️

Another piece of digital art to start the week of with! Working digitally used to be outside my comfortzone but this project really helped challenge me to pick up my drawing tablet and try something new. I'm really happy with the results so far!

This is the fourth image within an NFT collection I made inspired by the animated series Cowboy Bebop. The whole collection is available on Opensea (link in bio!).
