I’m so excited to share with all of you my 2026 Minnesota State Fair crop art submission! I had not heard about crop art until last year at the State Fair. I was mesmerized, so this year I decided to do a piece with my girlfriend and her parents - Thank you Paul, Leslie, and Sanna! I struggled with what to create at first, but eventually decided on honoring Minnesota. This state has been through so much, yet keeps fighting for what is right. The people and communities that exist in Minnesota are like no other. In the face of cruelty, hate, and violence, Minnesota shows how powerful kindness, compassion, and community can be. I am so lucky to be call this great state home and to be part of a resistance that protects all individuals. Check it out in the Agriculture Horticulture building at the Minnesota State Fair when you go and let me know! FOREVER NO KINGS AND ICE OUT!!!

I have had the pleasure of being part of Fieldwork, a 3-floor exhibition highlighting Stout’s Studio Arts Program. The show is up until June 21st in the Q.arma building in Minneapolis!

I’m very determined to explore and keep consistent in my painting practice this summer, so yesterday I started by working on this painting I abandoned early on during spring semester. Having a surface that was already mapped out with an underpainting felt like lower stakes and allowed me to really focus on color and mark!

BEST DAY EVER!!! I went to pick up my painting, As if nothing had happened, from FAA’s show at Vino Cappuccino and got to meet these sweet creatures. I also got the best chai latte I’ve ever had. The minute the sheep saw me, they ran up to say hi. I couldn’t stop laughing I was so happy. I only left because my fingers were freezing. Thank you to Vino Cappuccino for displaying our artwork!!! taken in Vino Cappuccino by @studiohagberg

Waking this morning,
a violent woman in the violent day
Laughing.
Past the line of memory
along the long body of your life
in which move childhood, youth, your lifetime of
touch,
eyes, lips, chest, belly, sex, legs, to the waves of the
sheet.
I look past the little plant
on the city windowsill
to the tall towers bookshaped, crushed together in
greed,
the river flashing flowing corroded,
the intricate harbor and the sea, the wars, the moon,
the plants
all who people space
in the sun visible invisible.
African violets in the light
breathing, in a breathing universe. I want strong peace, and delight,
the wild good.
I want to make my touch poems:
to find my morning, to find you entire
alive moving among the anti-touch people.
I say across the waves of
the air to you:
today once more
I will try to be non-violent
one more day
this moring, waking the world away
in the violent day.

It was a really interesting experience seeing all of my work from the past 3.5 years in one room. I felt a lot of feelings before and after, all different. Seeing my growth as an artist progress across semesters was special to see after feeling so lost. And with that, I passed MPR! 😋 taken in UW Stout - School of Art and Design by @studiohagberg

2025 - a year of many firsts, some lasts, hard moments, joyous moments, and everything in between. I’m ready for health, healing, and hopefully anything 2026 wants to throw at me. by @studiohagberg
