Some projects stay with a studio forever. From many beautiful projects that I could design alongside my most favourite designers at TaP, this one ended up being the most memorable which changed definition of how fun collaborations with clients like Khadim and Saira can be. Khadim Batti’s space was one of those projects for us. It was an important chapter in our journey, especially for Girish as this project was his first. For me, while it wasn’t the first project, Khadim and Saira were clients very close to her heart warm, gracious, and memorable. His passing made us look back at that chapter with gratitude for the people, conversations, and memories that shaped our journey. Some projects remain in our portfolio. Others remain a part of who we are. Khadim’s will always be one of them. Khadim inspired many people in the startup world and @whatfix_inc but he inspired us immensely with his journey. ĀVARTA, The Sculptural Chair — by Dhaval Shellugar (FADD Studio) & Iesha Parekh Shellugar (Studio i & Co). Two designers, bound by love, who answered the brief with a single chair. Āvarta is the curve expressed as geometry one bold statement made by two people who build, and live, together. Its dramatic red sings of togetherness while gold accents trace moments of warmth. Every element balances strength with softness; sharp lines meet embracing form. The result is a sculptural threshold where furniture becomes an act of devotion. It’s form, space and order held inside a single curve: sharp lines and embracing form, strength and softness, resolved into one. A 12-foot rosewood table anchors the dining room, complemented by deep burgundy chairs that bring warmth and richness to the space. Seamlessly connected to the outdoor dining area, the setting extends effortlessly to accommodate larger social gatherings. Thank you @elledecorindia @mrudul.pathak @s.h.r.i.t.i for this lovely feature Repost from @elledecorindia A sylvan retreat tucked away within the folds of Bengaluru can feel almost timeless on a fine summer evening, with rolling fairways casting shadows and subtropical trees stretching skywards. It’s here, in this golf-themed enclave, that Iesha Parekh Shellugar @parekhiesha of Studio i & Co. @studioico.in designed a 10,000 sq ft villa. “The home is conceived as a composition, where materials, textures and details come together much like notes in a melody,” says Iesha, explaining the provenance of the home’s name, Svara. At the entrance, a dual-material Cubist accent table draws inspiration from 1970s architectural furniture, while inside, the living room is filled with low-backed armchairs, Brutalist coffee tables, a dusty rose curvilinear sofa and terracotta-hued floor lamps that give the space a vibrant energy. The bedrooms come together in a calming palette of sage greens, slate greys, powder blues and taupes, with sprigs of bright red blossoms in round pots. Yet, for all its references to Indian heritage, Japanese craft traditions and Scandinavian restraint, Svara stays true to its surroundings. This was a first for me, and for many of us at the Studio - celebrating Onam together! All thanks to our darling Anjali, who put in so much effort to make us experience and understand the beauty behind this festival. From going out to buy flowers, choosing different colours and patiently separating every little petal, to creating the Pookalam and understanding the significance of its eight beautiful circles ……… every little detail had a story. A wholesome little recap of years of madness! 🤍 From TaP to Studio i. From being a mother of one, to pregnant, to now a mother of three. From Christmas to Diwali, birthdays to cooking, cleaning, game nights, events… to even getting one of them married! 🤍 We haven’t just worked together, we’ve lived it all together. The linear staircase anchors the space, while filtered daylight and layers of tropical greens soften its geometry. A dark, carved centre table brings weight to the foreground, balanced by the warmth of timber, aged brass and tactile stone. Collected objects and handcrafted forms add a sense of layers filled with memories, allowing the space to feel curated over time rather than simply decorated. At SVARA, luxury is expressed through restraint: in the richness of material, the scale of a gesture, the presence of art, and the pauses intentionally left between them.
