A “Més enllà del verd” , moltes gràcies a l’Andreu León , @andreu_leon per aquest comissariat, en el mes d’abril.

Fa 2.400 millons d’anys, va ocòrrer la Gran Oxidació. El període el qual les cianobacteries (algues verdes-blaves) van començar a realitzar la fotosíntesi oxígenica , alliberant grans quantitats d’oxígen com a subproducte a l’aigua i l’atmosfera.

Les algues eucariotes van encarregarse de produir oxígen als oceans, i les varietats de plantes i algues, derivades d’aquests microorganismes ancenstrals, van dur l’oxígen a l’atmòsfera. Fent possible que la vida a la terra es desenvolupés.

Pero tota aquesta vida ha de seguir evolucionant, i compartir-la amb les persones d’aigua, ens fa tornar a la nostra composició ancestral. by @studiojulia_capella

Per que les algues?🌱
Els millors records que guardo eren de bussejar i veure per primera vegada els paisatges de la vegetació marina. Recordo que la llum que hi havia em meravellava, i no m’havia de preocupar per si em faltava l’oxigen, ja que per uns instants el món s’aturava devant aquell espectacle lumínic. Era com un portal que et conduïa a un altre món, una espècie de cel sense gravetat, on tot el teu cos es transformava.

Why algae? 🌱
The best memories I have were of diving and seeing for the first time the landscapes of marine vegetation. I remember that the light there amazed me, and I didn’t have to worry about whether I was lacking oxygen, since for a few moments the world stopped in front of that light show. It was like a portal that led you to another world, a kind of sky without gravity, where your whole body was transformed.

Júlia Capella’s work (@studiojulia_capella ) is deeply connected to all the organic elements of nature. The wind, the sand, the algae, the sea, are all part of her visual and material universe, whose organic quality is an essential aspect of her creative process; an organicity that exists in harmony with our bodies as human beings. A TFM project for the Sustainable Design course

These Light objects are made with driftwood and recycled wood mixed with Algae Textiles, created with species from the mediterranean sea.

Curiosity and experimentation are the key for experiencing and creating new materials that are more respectfull with the earth and the sea.

Algae world is enourmous and there’s still a lot to discover with these magnificiant beings.
