I made my mom this plate back in high school; it’s displayed in her dining room today. I have always been a science girl that loves art…or is it an art girl that loves science?!?

The results of my little experiment are in!
The first 2 tiles (sassy bird, Certaldo Italy) were done using @amacobrent underglazes on @standardclaycompany 417, a low fire clay.
The second set (deer, Yosemite) were created using the same underglazes on @standardclaycompany 266, a midfire clay.
All colors are bright, so I guess I can use either…
And that deer?!? Yup, I captured that photo. She seemed confused that I told her to stop eating my yucca…. *sigh*

This little triptych of Yosemite - from a picture we took on vacation years ago - was painted with @amacobrent underglazes on @standardclaycompany 266. IYKYK - looks okay now…clay and underglaze interactions could tell a whole different story!! Stay tuned to see!!
