Seeing our work in @ad_magazine šŸ‡«šŸ‡·and @ad_italia šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹ was already such an honor. But seeing @studiopaiire in our hometown edition @archdigest šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øcompletely floored us. We are deeply grateful.

Thank you @_nicolasmilon for your beautiful piece and @johnleftbrooklyn for the English adaptation šŸ–Šļø

Thank you @vogueliving for highlighting that good design should never erase a home’s past…and that the most beautiful spaces are elegant, collected, and a little unexpected.

@rebeccatay thank you for telling the story of @studiopaiire ā€˜s journey with @saintcalais so thoughtfully. We are honored to have our work highlighted.

Read the story at the link in our bio.

A few of the things that stopped our scroll this week: the simple elegance of the Mediterranean, a study wrapped in soft folds, an emerald-green ceramic bar, expressive ironwork, centuries-old stone warmed by the fire and more. Saved, collected, and now shared with you. by @studiopaiire

We could move right in.

La Palmera in Cadaqués began as three 18th-century fishermen’s houses and has evolved over generations. Now beautifully reimagined by @bergnesdelascasas, this Costa Brava retreat is rustic, refined and filled with Mediterranean light.

On Friday, we shared the work you don’t see: choosing fabrics. But finding a fabric you love is only part of it. How will it work on the piece?

Here’s how we pair fabrics with forms, with a few tips on pattern scale, curves, tufting and trim.

So much happens before a fabric becomes a chair, a headboard, a settee.

We consider how it feels, how it catches the light, how it works with the pieces we’ve designed, and what it brings to the room. And take a moment to enjoy it – to notice what draws us in and how it makes us feel.

Just a little of the work you don’t see. by @studiopaiire

A quiet start to Monday. Sunlight falling across @pierreaugustinrose sofa in @pierrefrey au bord du lac tapestry.

Stone table sourced from @annaunwin; vintage mahogany chair.

The magnificent tiger from @deyrolles keeping watch over it all.

R E A D the R O O M:
A room we love. A few ideas for yours.

First up: a gorgeous Manhattan townhouse that gets scale just right.

Swipe through for three lessons to take home →

1 ) MIX WOODS, DON’T MATCH THEM
A room feels more collected when the woods aren’t trying to match. In fact, make sure they don’t. Different wood tones add depth and keep a room from feeling overly coordinated.

Try it: Choose woods with enough contrast that the mix looks intentional—not like you tried and failed to match them.

2 ) THINK BEYOND OVERHEAD
A large room needs ambient light throughout, at every eye level—seated, standing, entering and overhead.

Try it: Mix table lamps, floor lamps, sconces and overhead lighting at varied heights to create depth, warmth and atmosphere.

3 ) GO BIGGER ON THE RUG
The rug extends well beyond the coffee table and catches every seating piece.

Try it: At minimum, get the front legs of every major piece onto the rug. by @studiopaiire

Sometimes it’s the smallest things that make a space feel considered.

A spoon rest. A matchbox. A broom. A notepad.

Link in our bio for everyday objects, thoughtfully considered.

They needn’t be expensive or precious (although who doesn’t love a gold-plated pencil sharpener?) – just beautifully designed, exceptionally made, or somehow better than they need to be. by @studiopaiire

Calm and confident. Nothing is fighting for attention in this Brooklyn brownstone, yet nothing feels boring either. The interest comes through texture, material, shape and the mix of old and new, resulting in quiet but not drab. This is restraint done really well.
