Beautiful products don’t just happen. There’s a LOT of back and forth before something is ready to become a Pehchān product. I’ve learned that when you’re working with artisans, you can’t be afraid to ask too many questions. In fact, I’d rather over-communicate in the beginning than discover six weeks later that we understood something differently. 😂 Still learning. Still improving. A name can be just a name. Or it can carry a little piece of your story. Pehchān means identity — and that idea sits at the heart of everything I wanted this brand to be. The colours, traditions, textiles and memories we grow up with become part of us, even when we don’t realise it. I wanted Pehchān to be a way of carrying those things forward — not keeping them tucked away in the past, but letting them live in the everyday. And that’s what the logo represents too: a reflection of where we’ve come from in where we are today. Tradition doesn’t have to stay in the past.

This was one of those lessons I really wish I’d learned before placing my first order. 😭 I had done the maths. Then the actual costs started showing up. Shipping. Duties. Taxes. Courier charges. And all the little expenses that somehow don’t make it into your original spreadsheet. If you’re ordering internationally, ask questions before you place the order, not after. And please leave yourself a buffer.
