🖤Most days you’ll find me behind the scenes at STUDIO RABBIT, somewhere between sketches, patterns and half-finished ideas.

But today, on International Women’s Day, I thought it might be nice to step out for a moment and show you the face behind the label. My name is Inge Konijn, founder of STUDIO RABBIT. From my atelier in Amsterdam I design and develop each piece myself.

I’ve been building a small wardrobe of sculptural silhouettes in silk, wool and leather. Pieces shaped by movement, proportion and material. A study in strong forms that is still easy to wear. Hopefully see you soon in my studio!✨

I’ve always been fascinated by the movement of fabric. Not only because of the material, but because of what happens once it meets the body.

I usually start with a piece of cloth…
On a mannequin.
On myself.

A little bit more skin.
A little bit more room.
Maybe not.
Draw the pattern.
Check again.

Sometimes it’s just moving a seam a few centimetres. Sometimes it’s taking the whole thing apart.
That happens too:-)

With STUDIO RABBIT I build my own little utopia rather than making collections. I’m trying to create a feeling before creating a garment.

I want someone to wear the garment and Feel a little different
Move a little different.

Most of my garments still look like just pieces of cloth lying on the table. It’s so nice to see how little it takes for a piece of fabric to become something extraordinary.

A knot. A drape. A strap.

I never really know where I’ll end up.
I quite like leaving room for that.

Together with @amsterdamfashionweek and @glue.amsterdam, we are excited to announce the launch of a series of transient spaces presented by Arcatype. Hosted at The Gent, the newly renovated landmark at Herengracht 206, the building will transform into a place to meet new work, start conversations and draw unexpected connections.

A three-week collective experience, from 1 to 20 September, it will bring together emerging brands, creative voices and the people shaping what a hopeful future could look like.

The complete list of designers and partners, along with a link to reserve access, will be announced early next week. More soon.
