It’s taken a while but I am finally ready to launch the family flower stem print 🥳 there are 18 flowers to choose from and it’ll be available on Monday via Etsy / NOTHS. I’m so happy it’s Friday 🙌🏻 it’s my favourite day even though I don’t have a normal working week anymore. We’re off to my in-laws farm tomorrow and Lily can’t wait, she gets to ride on her grandads tractor so she’s pretty excited! How odd is this weather! At one point yesterday I was convinced there was about to be an enormous ‘day after tomorrow’ type storm but then it just passed over 🤷🏼‍♀️

In other news, here’s the finished painting from the other day. I love how the pastel colours have turned out together, it definitely gives me spring vibes (and we need it!)

Both kids are out the house today so I’ve got a good few hours to work and maybe prep for Father’s Day. I’m a bit behind but hoping to get my ideas onto paper this week 🤞🏻 Happy hump day to you lovely lot. Sophie xx by @studiosophiebrown

Hello everyone, this is Rosie ❤️🌹

It’s difficult to know where to start with our little heartbreaker. I had wanted to wait to announce my pregnancy until she arrived, but then our world got turned upside down and here we are 6 months later.

On the 19th January I went into hospital to have our little girl, but there were complications during labour and we lost her shortly after she arrived. We are completely heartbroken, and life will never be the same again, but I wanted to introduce her to you all and let you know why I’ve been away from the Paper Pocket studio for so long.

I’m planning to return to work in September, albeit slowly, and I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with you all again. I’ve still been creating whilst I’ve been away, it still gives me such joy to paint, especially flowers now more than ever 🌹

I’m not sure where life goes from here, Paper Pocket included, but Rosie has taught me to live for the day, and I’m definitely trying to do that. My page might change a little bit as I make my way through this new world, so please bear with me, but I’m so grateful for you all sticking around with me so far whilst I’ve been absent.

Last Thursday I was invited in to the loveliest little primary school; they have recently created this gorgeous library space for their pupils, and I was asked to read Rory and the Sugar Bugs to their year 3 classes. We then had a session with some of their best little artists, drawing and discussing what makes a good illustration in a story book. The children created their very own sugar bugs and quite honestly I think they could have made the final book 🤩 It was probably the most heartwarming afternoon of my artists career. I’m so excited to announce my very first watercolour painting class! 🎨🤍

I’ve been dreaming about doing something like this for a while, and I’m so happy to be teaming up with Wren & Bramble to bring it to life.

Think a cosy afternoon of watercolour, creativity, cake and a little bit of time to yourself. 🌸

You absolutely don’t need to be an artist, I’ll guide you through the painting step by step, and the whole idea is simply to relax, have a go and enjoy making something beautiful.

✨ Learn some simple watercolour techniques
🎨 Paint your own piece to take home
🍰 Enjoy something delicious
🤍 Spend a couple of hours being creative and doing something just for you

Come on your own, bring a friend, or make a little afternoon of it together.

A new era for my flower prints 🌷🍃

I painted this canvas a few weeks back, and it’s taken that long to compile all the snippets of filming 😅 This is such a personal piece for my family, it has all 6 of our birth flowers and is now proudly adorning the wall in our living room. I love it and it was a joy to paint. Hopefully I’ll be able to do more of these moving forward, and I hope you all like it! ❤️

A day that should be filled with chaos and first school shoes, and “just stand there let me take another photo, and one with your siblings and please all look at me and smile!” But for us, and I know for a lot of others, it’s imagining it instead of living it for our youngest girl today. Because she isn’t starting reception like she should be. Instead my eldest girl will go into year 6 and buddy with another little girl or boy in reception, not her little sister, Rosie. But we know we are beyond lucky in so many ways, our girl in the sky is no exception. We continue to carry her along with us in everything we do, and we will talk about her always 🤍🌹 Happy first day of school wherever you are, my darling girl, I wish so much you could tell me all about it xxx
