Casa Capitolo 1 / Monopoli, Puglia.

Two bathrooms, two different expressions of the same design concept.

One in deep blue, the other in soft green, each space is defined by colour and texture: gently ridged surfaces and a subtle, almost granular finish add depth and tactility to the interiors.

Passed down from one generation to the next, the house carries with it a sense of memory and belonging. The project embraces this emotional connection, reimagining the spaces while preserving the familiarity of a place deeply rooted in the family’s story.

Instinctive, eccentric, unconventional.
A woman constantly searching, collecting and surrounding herself with what moved her.

One of the most influential collectors of the 20th century, she had an extraordinary instinct for discovering and supporting emerging artists, helping to shape the course of modern art.
For Peggy, art was never simply something to look at. It became part of her life, her home, her identity. Her Venetian palazzo reflected this completely, blurring the boundaries between art and everyday life.

Un progetto che prende forma dal recupero di un trullo e di una stalla, dove un nuovo volume contemporaneo si inserisce in continuità con l’architettura esistente, nel cuore della Valle d’Itria /

Pensati come una dimora estiva di una famiglia, gli interni esplorano il dialogo tra luce, materiali e forme essenziali.

In queste stanze, il letto a baldacchino diventa il fulcro dello spazio, mentre un disegno geometrico a pavimento ne definisce l’area, come un tappeto permanente integrato nel pavimento.

Un lavabo a colonna caratterizza il bagno, accompagnato da una parete traforata che lascia entrare la luce naturale, trasformandola in una presenza dinamica all’interno dello spazio.

A project born from the restoration of a traditional trullo and a former stable, where a contemporary addition blends seamlessly with the existing architecture, in the heart of Italy’s Itria Valley.

Conceived as a holiday home for a family, the interiors explore the relationship between light, materials and essential forms.

In these bedrooms, the four-poster bed becomes the focal point of the space, while a geometric floor pattern defines its footprint, like a permanent rug integrated into the architecture.

A freestanding pedestal basin characterises the bathroom, accompanied by a perforated screen that filters natural light, turning it into a dynamic presence within the space.

Un progetto che prende forma dal recupero di un trullo e di una stalla, dove un nuovo volume contemporaneo si inserisce in continuità con l’architettura esistente, nel cuore della Valle d’Itria /

Pensati come una dimora estiva di una famiglia, gli interni esplorano il dialogo tra luce, materiali e forme essenziali.

Le camere e i bagni si inseriscono negli spazi originari del trullo e della stalla, dove la pietra lasciata a vista incontra superfici continue. Nei bagni, i lavabi monolitici in pietra diventano elementi architettonici, disegnati come volumi sospesi e accostati al legno e ai metalli bruniti.

La luce attraversa gli interni durante l’arco della giornata, esaltando la matericità delle superfici e dando vita a un ambiente intimo, caratterizzato da una palette naturale e da un linguaggio architettonico essenziale.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are set within the original spaces of the trullo and the former stable, where exposed stone meets continuous surfaces. In the bathrooms, monolithic stone basins become architectural elements, conceived as suspended volumes and paired with wood and burnished metals.

Throughout the day, natural light moves across the interiors, revealing the richness of the materials and creating an intimate atmosphere defined by a natural palette and a restrained architectural language.

Un progetto che prende forma dal recupero di un trullo e di una stalla, dove un nuovo volume contemporaneo si inserisce in continuità con l’architettura esistente, nel cuore della Valle d’Itria /

Pensati come una dimora estiva di una famiglia, gli interni esplorano il dialogo tra luce, materiali e forme essenziali. La cucina si sviluppa attraverso una composizione di superfici materiche, dove ogni elemento contribuisce a creare un senso di continuità ed equilibrio.
Le colonne integrano le funzioni tecniche, mentre il piano di lavoro e l’isola definiscono una disposizione fluida e funzionale.

Nel soggiorno, una panca continua rivestita diventa parte dell’architettura, definendo l’ambiente.
La luce attraversa gli interni durante l’arco della giornata, esaltando la matericità delle superfici e dando vita a un ambiente intimo, caratterizzato da una palette naturale e da un linguaggio architettonico essenziale.

Cabinetry integrates storage and appliances, while the worktop and island define a fluid and intuitive workspace.

In the living area, a continuous built-in bench becomes an architectural element, shaping the space through a single, cohesive gesture.
Throughout the day, natural light moves across the interiors, revealing the richness of the materials and creating an intimate atmosphere defined by a natural palette and a restrained architectural language.

Un progetto che prende forma dal recupero di un trullo e di una stalla, dove un nuovo volume contemporaneo si inserisce in continuità con l’architettura esistente, nel cuore della Valle d’Itria.

I bagni sono progettati attraverso pochi elementi materici che definiscono lo spazio.
Un lavabo a colonna caratterizza il primo bagno, accompagnato da una parete traforata che lascia entrare la luce naturale, trasformandola in una presenza dinamica all’interno dello spazio.
Nel secondo bagno il lavabo su misura in pietra dialoga con il rivestimento verticale, mentre la doccia in muratura completa l’ambiente attraverso un superficie continua.

The bathrooms are defined by a restrained palette of materials and a series of carefully integrated elements.
A freestanding pedestal basin characterises the first bathroom, accompanied by a perforated screen that filters natural light, turning it into a dynamic presence within the space.
In the second bathroom, a bespoke stone basin is paired with a matching stone wall surface, while the built-in masonry shower completes the space through a continuous architectural surface.
