"There's a fox asleep in the branches. You just have to look closely enough to find him."

FOREST DREAMS — known on @loomwell as "Ralf" — is a midsummer forest night redrawn with a sprinkle of magic: moths caught mid-flight, branches that never stop reaching, a moon low in the leaves, and at the center, a fox curled up like he's been dreaming there for a hundred years. The kind of pattern you'd find described in the second chapter of a book you can't put down.

NORI IN THE WILD ✨This is Nori, my cat - or rather, my familiar.
At the moment, Nori and his brother Loëc are house cats (will change soon) and although our current flat is really spacious and hs a catio (catfriendly patio), they want to go outside. I can understand. And I imagined Nori being outside in summer, spending his first nights of awe and cutiosity in the high grasses, just living his best cat life. Wild Abundance.

I'll be honest with you. I am not a floral print person.

I never have been. Too pretty, too expected, too safe. So when this print started to emerge, I wasn't sure what to think.

And then something happened.

The wildflowers I had collected, hand-pressed and scanned found their way into the layout alongside elements I had painted by hand. And slowly, a reverse stripe structure appeared. Something between a wild meadow and a millefleur from another century.

And I fell completely in love with it.

This is the print I would plaster across my home if I could. All colorways. Without hesitation.

Sometimes the work surprises you. Sometimes the thing you least expected becomes the one close to your heart.

Meet the Midnight palette.

There is a particular kind of magic that only happens after dark on a warm summer night.

Standing in a forest clearing. Or on an open field. The sunset has just faded. The sunset sky has already bled into deep teals and blues. The sky is darkening, just lit up by the stars.

Everything around you takes on that soft, blueish glow that only exists in this time of the night.

And suddenly you are completely, entirely present.

No distractions. No noise. Just the sound of cicadas, the smell of summer air, and the quiet wonder of the night settling in around you.

In a loud, fast and sometimes overwhelming world, these are the moments I hold onto.

The Midnight palette was born from exactly this feeling. Rich, atmospheric, and full of depth. Designed for the homes and the hearts that know how to be still.

You stayed up far too late. But you also know it was worth it. Every single moment of it.

The sky shifts first. Soft peach and pink, combined with the lightest blue. The first quiet sign that a new day is coming. Morning dew sits on the tenderly green grasses. The world is holding its breath.

And you are there for it.

The Sunrise palette was born from that threshold between night and day. Warm, luminous, and full of gentle anticipation. Designed for the homes and the hearts that know how to savour the moment before everything begins again.

PRINT REVEAL

Meet Canopy.

This is the print I call my favourite. And this is why.

There is a treehouse platform in the middle of a forest. Every summer, my closest friends and I gather there for a fantasy festival deep in the woods. On the last night — a warm Saturday evening — we stood on that platform together. Below us, lantern lights flickered through the trees. Above us, a sky full of stars. Around us, the sound of a harp drifting through the night air.

It was one of those moments where time slows down just enough to notice how magical everything is.

I carried that memory into this collection. Canopy is my attempt to hold that feeling inside a pattern: the branches, the light, the stillness, the wonder of looking up.

It is the first print I designed that felt completely, entirely mine.

This is one of the most personal posts I have ever shared on socials.

It's not only about my journey of stepping onto the path of surface pattern design, because the transformation was much deeper. It is also about me, becoming an artist again.

After having been in industries with no time for real creativity for more than 16 years, I had lost the joy and playfulness of creating, but also the trust in myself that I could come up again with something created fully from scratch. But I changed my complete behaviour when it came to creative research and followed the process.

I began gathering inspiration outdoors in nature, using my own photography, and researching the historical sources of print design layout construction.

I tried out new art supplies. And I drew. And I painted. Analogue, with traditional art media. I collected and hand-pressed flowers, grasses, and leaves to scan them later. And I arranged them into designs that build my very first collection.

Creating this way was a beautiful, peaceful process — the opposite of what I was used to. And somewhere in that slow, quiet process, I remembered long-forgotten moments that once felt utterly magical. I forged those precious moments into my designs, and I couldn't be prouder of the results.

I'll be sharing my work with you over the next 11 days.

Very last minute I decided to actively join the #TrailingFloralChallenge2026 and I am so happy I could finally add a pattern to my magnolia watercolor illustration from last year!
This was something I planned to do for several months, but never really had the occasion for. I had great fun and I am really proud of how it turned out in the end. Can't wait to see it on products!
