Clay Relief.
10m x 4m.
For Park Royal Gallery space.

Wild Clay, that has been dug up from the soil while constructing the new Highspeed rail tunnels between London and the West Midlands, was donated by HS2 to Artists and Makers local to Park Royal.

A labour and time intensive process of the earthen Clay followed, by manual crushing , Slaking, and adding Sand and Straw.
An essential process to prepare the dense natural Clay before being plastered on to the wall.

This work is now all done and im very pleased to share the earthy results.

Whos who in 2023?

Embarking narrow paths is a grind for sure.
At times it feels like walking uphill, face wind.

So, to be recognised as one of 25 Rising Stars by House and Garden is very flattering and a victory.
Thank you very much @houseandgardenuk

A little snippet of the final touches before left to cure.

Wild Clay, that has been dug up from the soil while constructing the new Highspeed rail tunnels between London and the West Midlands, was donated by HS2 to Artists and Makers local to Park Royal.

After a labour intensive processing of the earthen Clay, by manual crushing , slaking and adding sand and straw.
It is now all plastered and done, and i am excited to show the full imagery when it has fully cured.

This work will be shown during London Craft week the 12th-13th of May in Park Royal.

Stay tuned.
