Introducing our favorite young coworker and unofficial employee of the month: Ziggy!

Ziggy is 7 years old, highly focused, and already has better office habits than most adults. He parks his scooter downstairs, reports to his high chair next to his dad’s standing desk, and stays impressively on task throughout the workday.

When he’s off the clock, Ziggy enjoys Legos and may show you his digital Lego kits on his iPad if you ask nicely. He recently celebrated his birthday with a legendary Super Mario Kart / Smash Bros party at the park, complete with a very cool lemon cake bursting with marshmallows.

Ziggy is not currently available for hire, but we’ll let you know once he’s ready to enter the workforce. For now, his main responsibilities include homework, building things, and taking very good care of his micropet on the Finch app.

We’re lucky to have him and his dad, Andrew, as part of the Studious community. 🎮🛴🍋✨ taken in Chinatown, Los Angeles by @studious.work

Big congratulations to our member Pablo Miralles, who recently received the “Sweetest People” Award in Altadena 💚

Pablo’s current mission is raising funds for John Muir High School through the alumni association, and through his documentary, “Can We All Get Along?: The Segregation of John Muir High School,” which explores the history of Pasadena’s schools, John Muir High School’s multicultural community, and the ongoing challenges of building well-funded, diverse public education.

We’re so lucky to have Pablo as part of the Studious community. He’s a pleasure to share space with and an inspiration to everyone around him.

Congrats, Pablo! So well deserved. You’re Sweetest Person at Studious too! 🥰 taken in Studious Coworking Space by @studious.work

Thank you to everyone who came out to @studious.work and supported our Fail Better storytellers this past Tuesday! We had a great turnout and a fun time witnessing and discussing true story drafts full of heart and humor from @chabemucho @kelpie007 @jaimexicano @crystalvrivera and our open mic @ssarahvargass.

We’ll be back with another Fail Better Story Time on October 1st. Stay tuned for more details!

Check out links in our bio to submit to tell your own draft of a true story at one of our future workshop-shows & to RSVP!

Until next time...

📩 You’re invited to join us for this dynamic conversation featuring Tisha Marie Reichle-Aguilera (author of Breaking Pattern) and a guest reader circle of BIPOC-identified poets + writers. Join us in LA Chinatown at Studious Collective on Sunday September 13th, 2pm-3:30pm.

💫 This event is a community building effort with a focus on intercultural + intergenerational conversation, including “breaking bread” with a light reception. The salon is open to all attendees. The venue is on the ground floor and wheelchair accessible. We are family-friendly with PG-13 content.

✨ The theme “courage” challenges us in this way as described by our featured author: Summoning courage means we are willing to set our fears aside, use our available resources, and face demands.

🌺 Our guest reader circle for this edition highlights Latine authors in early celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. We are honored to have award-winning poets and writers as part of this circle, as well as emerging artists.

✨Guest readers:
Pat Alderete, Lili Flores, Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo, Ryane Nicole Granados, José Enrique Medina, M. Anne Kala’i, Alex Cho, Mylo Lam, José Rios, Jalen Jones, Benin Lemus, Genesis Perez, and Jen Cheng.

✅ Please RSVP: bit.ly/sep2026palabras

🪑Drop-ins welcome, but your RSVP helps us know how many chairs to set up!

i walked into my first @acenextgensocal meetup a year ago and knew literally no one. i grabbed a plate of food, found an empty seat, and started talking to the stranger next to me about what we’re building

that conversation turned into a friendly face, and into a year of showing up to cool events with cool AAPI founders!

excited to share that one year later, i get to share some of my learnings with this fabulous group...and you, if you want!

🎙️ storytelling for business owners
📆 wed 8/19, 6:30-9pm
📍 @studious.work (chinatown, Los Angeles)
💸 free for members, $15 for non-members

if you’ve ever sat across from a potential client, an investor, or a stranger at a networking event and gone completely blank on how to explain what you actually do, this one’s for you.

comment ACE and i’ll send you the link to register (and link in bio!)

what’s the thing you struggle with most when it comes to telling your business’s story? drop it below and i’ll make sure we cover it in the session!
