Töne-Ton-werden is a site-specific work developed by Lumpen Station specifically for the spaces of project room enter in @kunstmuseumthunpanorama. Throughout the duration of the installation, a series of events will unfold within the space, inviting the public to actively participate.

Lumpen Station’s installations are usually designed to inhabit art spaces as real-time territories of experimentation. Through invitations to artists, musicians, and performers, Lumpen Station generates radio happenings – live performances, text readings, and music open to the public. These moments are also broadcast live, extending the exhibition space beyond its physical limits and opening it up to remote audiences. The broadcast functions simultaneously as a documentation machine, a means of dissemination and an artwork.

Lumpen Station is a Swiss web radio based in Biel/Bienne dedicated to radio art and experimental sound practices. Conceived as both platform and laboratory, it explores sound as a medium for research, encounter, and collective experience. Lumpen Station is directed as a duo by artists Mathilde Marioni & Andrea Marioni.

PHONEM Festival invites Lumpen Station to participate as a media partner for this edition!
Lumpen Station will produce a daily radio program featuring interviews with participating artists, documenting their practices and contributing to the mediation of the festival by offering the audience contextual entry points into the content. The talks will be open to the public and broadcasted live on lumpenstation.art from @kunstraum_walcheturm on all three festival days.
In parallel, Phonem Festival will provide Lumpen Station with recordings of selected live performances and events. These recordings will be broadcasted within a dedicated time slot on Lumpen Station’s streaming schedule, extending the Festival beyond its physical timeframe and location.

I’m proud to present our latest publication “Soundgate - connecting cultural scenes throughout the Balkans”. Created during our residency @cultureinbiel in Belgrade, this fanzine presents our work from the last three years in the Balkans. With @lumpenstation ‘s project “Soundgate”, we have since 2023 traveled in eastern countries and encountered amazing people who welcomed us warmly. They introduced us to their culture, their art scenes, their daily life. We had some great exchanges during and outside our radio happenings, we’re hoping to have some more in the upcoming years !
I’m happy that we managed to condense it all in this printed format, riso printed with care in @matrijarsija

Last weeks of our residency, we left Belgrade and spent a few days in Zagreb, meeting with friends before coming back to Switzerland.
It is with full hearts, filled heads and overfilled suitcases that we leave our beloved Belgrade ! We are really grateful for this time in the busy city, we look forward to the next Lumpen adventures in 2026 ❤️‍🔥 taken in Belgrade, Serbia by @studiovanieli
