Our next Chequered Cabaret is dedicated to Michelle Strutt 🤍

Some of you will already know this but my lovely friend Michelle died last year in early December. It’s hard to put it into words how devastated I felt when I found out, I’m still struggling to believe she is no longer here and process this heartbreaking grief. The conditions of her death were extremely tragic - she was only 51 when she died 😢

When I think of Miche, I can’t help but see her on a stage, performing a monologue or character scene with naturalism, emotional depth and dramatic flare. She was a sensational performer, and writer, and we bonded deeply over our shared love of theatre over the years.

Michelle came to many of our Marble Cake shows and she was at our first Chequered Cabaret in May 2025. No matter what she was dealing with, she always found time and energy to show up for me as a friend and support me through all my theatre endeavours. I have infinite gratitude for the kindness this lady showed me and encouragement she gave me to keep pushing on, even when the chips were (extremely) down… She always believed in me 🥹 How lucky I am to have known this wonderful woman and to call her my friend.

In honour of her memory, we are dedicating this show to Michelle Strutt. She will very much be there in spirit on the night and I just wish more than anything that she could be there in person too.

It will be a celebration of her accomplishments in the arts and a perfect moment to remember her.

I will love you forever, my special friend @michstrutt 🫶🏽🕊️
