🌊🌊🌊 a crafts and art behind the curtain process sharing of a mainly clay and silver healing journey

POSTS STORIES REELS

Our 5th moon vessel and maybe a favourite. If you aren’t already familiar with this series, these vessels are thrown by Cicilia and glazed by Annie. A collaboration which is receiving so much love and we can’t wait to share it in a gallery space with you all by @stuff.wip

Thrown with crank clay by Cecilia and glazed with Smoke, Opal Lustre and Honey Flux by Annie. We love this latest addition to our moon family 🌙 by @stuff.wip

This week I glazed Cecilia’s gorgeous new moon vessel for our collection. So excited to see how she comes out by @stuff.wip

completion! grid time!
the great blue north american heron. sharp beak and talons on this design so added an outlining backing plate. went for a more rounded shank at first and managed to slightly melt and warp it. do-over with a much cooler u-shaped shank. thought the engraved detailing would pop with some black liver of sulfur patina but felt it got a bit dull and grey once it had been irreversibly added. thankfully it did brighten up in the final polishing. by @stuff.wip

Everything going to the Dover Castle Pub Winter Festive Market on Saturday. 10am - 4 pm, people! Sorry for crap lighting. Tried new glaze on a few pieces. Shouldn’t have done that so those didn’t make the cut this time. Give me a shout if you want any of it. If you wonder what the tiny pebble bowls are useful for I’d say any small portion of anything, including peanutbutter you want to eat with a small spoon, or placing little tiny gemstones in for feng shui all around your house, or like, general mini trinket dish purposes. Well, that’s what I use them for. They are fired on stils in order to be able to have glaze all around. Glaze all around is quite gratifying when it comes out well. I rub a stone over the sharp stilt marks and that’s the closest I can get to that immaculate and untrendy massproduction aesthetic and feel I really like. by @stuff.wip

We made something pretty. More info about our new artist collaboration coming soon!

about time i put this one properly on the grid. didn’t plan for stackability but kind of love it how it goes from large vase to sculptural installation to biggest ever incense holder in no time. glass incense holder from @studioarhoj @dowsedesign by @stuff.wip

just needs some polishing on the inside but I’m taking this one out for a spin. my new highlight of the week, learning silver. considered other designs but true to form my first project is unsurprisingly very round 🌕 by @stuff.wip

lovely to have a piece find a new home! and a home that make it look really good 😍 made this for my darling sister @michaelamodig @mickijela , with a glaze i thought would fit the colourway of their new home well, and knowing she loves turqoise. since throwing the shape in may this year it has gone through four firings, some trouble shooting and a good measure of ”trusting the process”. happy birthday @mickijela !!! love you! ❤️💖🩵🩷❤️ by @stuff.wip

been getting stuck in with these little round ones this weekend by @stuff.wip

Upon request! My first ever clay use object. Hand built, stone ware, matte black glaze. Wanted a bulbous, aortic feel, and definitely two openings. Sometimes I think my mirror neurons are over-firing. With certain inanimate objects, especially ones that I like or ones I made and put effort into, I can just about feel the shape of it as if I was relating to an animate body. The upper curve, hollow and space inside of this vase I feel in my chest, as if there is a visceral sense of recognition of it in me. I remember having a similar feeling for certain toys I had a s a kid. Just loving certain shapes that they had, like the chest of a small plaster bulldog, I can’t remember where I got it from. Or the broken porcelain piggy bank I found in an old ruin. In the end it is just a clay vase. And it looks good holding my kale for me. #ithasbody #fortheloveofinananimateobjects by @stuff.wip
