Meet the newest Raemisch family members, Pippa and Belle. They are 9 weeks old and have come to us via the Ocooch Mountain Humane Society in Richland Center, WI. The human children are worried I will become a cat lady. I fail to see the problem. by @stvshope222

We did it again. This morning we emptied another bedroom as another of the Raemisch kids begins a new adventure. Jon is arriving in Michigan about now. Steve and I are excited for him. Bullet is not. by @stvshope222

So theoretically, if on my birthday while I am out and about - minding my own business - I get a random text from a child at home which says, “It’s under the quilt.” Doesn’t it seem reasonable to run home and peek under any and all quilts?

Max is finally all put back together and resting safely, and comfortably, at home.

“Oh, magnify the LORD with me,
and let us exalt his name together!

Max had a great night last night because he was able to sleep through most of it. Today has been marked by continual improvement as the team focuses on bringing pain under control. But he is walking again-no helmet-and eating and generally catching up with all the hospital therapists. His neurosurgeon is confident and happy with Max’s progress and may send him home tomorrow. “Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me bless his holy name! Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all his benefits. Who forgives all your iniquities. Who heals all your diseases. Who redeems your life from the pit. Who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy. Who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.” Ps 103:1-5 taken in UW Health Kids by @stvshope222

So for the first time since I started this account I am actually posting something with Max’s instructions. He told me to tell his friends that he is still alive. Surgery is complete and he is in his room for just tonight in the PICU. His pain level is still pretty high, but they are working to get that under control. As one nurse said, “You’re a little bigger than our normal patients and probably take more medicine than we are used to giving out.” Also, his feet touch the end of his bed and his gown is too small. Other than that, he is very coherent and even gave me the “Oh hi, Mom” I had been waiting for. And best news of all, this time he seems to know not to touch his incision or the drain. We are hoping the pain meds will help him get some sleep now. Thanks for checking on him. We will post an update in the morning. taken in UW Health Kids by @stvshope222
