We’re hiring in Hamilton!

We’re looking for a Junior Commercial Roofing Estimator to join us at Stybek.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who already has some commercial roofing knowledge and wants to learn, grow, and build a career in this industry.

You’ll get exposure to all sides of roofing estimating, including service and repairs, reroofing, and new construction. You’ll work on takeoffs and estimates, review drawings and specifications, prepare scopes and proposals, create service reports, visit job sites, and gain hands on exposure to how roofing projects are estimated, awarded, and delivered.

Who are we looking for? Someone who is exceptionally organized, detail oriented, a great communicator, comfortable with technology, and hungry to learn. Someone who asks questions, takes initiative, follows through, and wants more responsibility as they grow.

We’re not looking for someone who wants to stay a Junior Estimator forever. There’s a ton of opportunity here for someone who wants to grow into estimating, sales, project management, or all of the above.

If you’re reading this thinking, this sounds like me, we would love to hear from you. And if you’re reading it thinking, I know exactly who you need to talk to, we’d also love an introduction.

Send us a message or share this with someone who should see it.

All across Ontario there are crews on a roof working in this insane July heat.

Roofing doesn’t make the tourism ads. Doesn’t matter. The work still needs to get done, and the building still needs to not leak.

We joke about trekking through 3 feet of snow like it’s a personality trait. Showing up to work in the harshest winters and the hottest summers, AND still taking the time to enjoy it… that’s the whole Canadian thing.

Today and this week, we do both.

Thank you to all our crews out there working today in this heat. We see you!

Employee Appreciation Day of National Roofing Week is by far the best day, because this team deserves every bit of it!

To our whole team… the foremen, the technicians, the people who show up every single day and do the work - thank you. You make Stybek what it is and we don’t take that for granted.

This one’s for you. 💙

The Dundas Valley School of Art ran a community fundraising campaign - No Leaks, Just Art - to replace their failing roof. When we heard about it, we called them! We believe in this community and in the work DVSA does, and our team had to find a way to make it happen.

We were honoured to be the team they trusted to get it done this past winter.

No leaks 💦 Just art 🎨

Every project has a number attached to it. This one was 400,000 square feet.
But what we remember about 220 Water Street in Whitby isn't the square footage, it's the team behind it. The PMs, the crew, the coordination it takes to execute at this scale - everyone delivered. A Dream project. Literally.

Stybek has been women-owned since the day it was founded in 1991.

Rita and Peter built the foundation. We’re continuing to grow it.

35 years. Two owners. One standard.

Women in this industry aren’t a trend. We’re owners, operators, and decision makers. We’ve been here and we’re not going anywhere.

Happy National Roofing Week! Today’s theme is Women in Roofing, and we’ve got something to say about that. 💙

Roofing season is heating up and we’re hiring.
Stybek is looking for experienced flat roofing technicians.
If you know commercial flat roofing and want competitive pay, steady work, respect for your skill, and the chance to keep learning and growing with a company that’s moving forward, let’s talk.

Construction is ultimately a people business! The estimator who fits here isn’t just technically strong - they communicate well, build trust with clients, and understand that a number on a page is only as good as the relationship behind it.

Stybek is hiring a Roofing Estimator with ICI flat roofing experience. Interested? Email us at careers@stybek.ca by @stybekroofing

Yesterday Rita Steikow showed up at our office with treats. She does that a lot, and we love her for it!

Most people don’t know the full story of how Andrew and I ended up owning Stybek, so here it is…

Rita and her husband Peter cofounded Stybek in 1991 and built something real in the flat roofing space. When Peter passed away suddenly in 2011, Rita didn’t step back. She stepped forward, took the president’s chair, and ran the company for over a decade in an industry that doesn’t always make room for women at the top.

She hired Andrew as her GM in 2019, and at the end of 2021, she trusted us with something she had poured years of her life into.

She didn’t have to show up for us the way she has since the sale. The chapter was closed and she could have walked away, but that’s not who Rita is. She comes by with treats, with kind words, with genuine pride in what this place has become and is becoming. She is our loudest cheerleader and she has never stopped being part of this story.

In construction, women who lead don’t always get named and Rita deserves to be named. Stybek has always been women owned. Rita built the foundation of this company and we are growing it.

Stybek was always meant to be something, and we’re making sure it is! 💙
