🇦🇺 It’s not anything grand, but for more than 20 years, I’ve lived by a simple rule I made for myself in my twenties: every ten years, I would choose one dream I wanted to make happen. I didn’t want to simply let life happen to me. And then, as 2026 began, I suddenly realised that I’m already in my mid-forties. And I found myself wondering, why was I waiting? There are other ways to begin. I don’t have to wait for the “right” time or the perfect way to do it. In my mid-twenties, I once volunteered to care for children with physical disabilities. Every time I came home, my body was exhausted, but somehow my mind felt incredibly clear. It was a strangely beautiful experience. Those moments taught me far more than I could ever have imagined giving in return. When I started By Jee, I wanted to make giving back part of the journey, too. So I’ve decided to donate a portion of the brand’s annual profits to a cause or organisation I choose each year. It may not be much. But it’s a first step toward a dream I’ve carried for a long time. And today, looking at this beautiful ocean, I thought — maybe I don’t have to wait anymore. I can simply begin. 꿈에 대한 조금 긴 글- 1. 거창하진 않지만, 10년주기로 이루고 싶은 꿈을 하나씩 정해놓고 산지 20년이 넘었다. 주어진 인생, 살아지는대로 살기 아까워 20대때 막연히 정해놓은 인생 룰이었는데, 2026년의 시작과 동시에 나 벌써 40대 중반이 되어버렸잖아. 갑자기 그런 생각이 들더라. 왜 기다리고 있었지? 다른 방법으로도 시작할 수 있는 걸.. 2. 20대 중반, 움직임이 불편한 아이들을 돌보며 봉사활동을 한 적이 있다. 다녀올 때마다 몸은 지치고 힘들었지만 마음은 놀랍도록 맑아지는 신비한 경험이었다. 내가 행하는 기여보다 훨씬 더 많은 깨달음을 주던 시간들이었다. 3. By jee 브랜드를 시작하며 전체 수익금의 일부를 매년 업체를 선정해 기증하고자 한다. 겨우 몇프로? 라고 할지 모르겠지만, 그게 얼마가 되었든 내 꿈을 향한 방향으로, 첫 발걸음을 떼는데 의의를 두고 싶다. 직접 제3세계로 나가기 전, 내가 애정을 가지고 시작하는 브랜드와 뜻깊은 일을 함께 하면 좋겠다는 생각이 오늘 눈부시게 아름다운 바다를 보며 문득 들더라. 💓 @byjee.official @byjee.official @byjee.official #인생 #동기부여 #꿈 by @style.jee

🇦🇺 Finally I made Sirsasana by myself, without any support behind such as a wall or someone to hold me 🧘🏽‍♀️🤸🏽‍♀️ 1. 코비드 락다운으로 처음 홈트를 시작하며 무심코 했던 헤드스탠드가 성공한 적이 있다. 그냥 해볼까? 란 마음으로 시도했는데, 단번에 성공해서.. 와우 😳 얼떨떨했던 기억과 함께 영상으로 남겼기에 #jee_letsfit 태그를 찾아봤다. 2020년 7월의 어느날이었다. 2. 그로부터 3년 후, 2023년 4월. 똑같은 head stand 지만 내겐 또 다른 의미로 다가온 🤸🏽‍♀️. 그 어떤 도움 (언제든 안전하게 지탱해주던 가까운 벽 혹은 내가 넘어지려 하면 잡아주던 그 누군가) 없이 처음으로 스스로 이뤄냈거든요. 칠레의 소피아 호수에서도, 콜롬비아의 산 속에서도, 늘 무언가 살짝 아쉬웠는데 드디어 넘어선거다. 뒤로 넘어가면 어떻하지? 라는 불안한 그 마음을.. 내가 나를 온전히 믿는데 3년의 시간이 걸렸다. 3. 어려운 아사나를 할때면 이젠 잊지 않고 늘 주문을 외운다. “Notice your breath..” 흔들리던 동작(마음)은 호흡에 집중함으로 고요를 되찾고 다시 편안해진다. 그래, 언제나 기본이 중요하지♥︎ 2023년 4월의 끝자락 기록 📝 taken in Sydney, Australia by @style.jee

WHY #4 “Travel is more fun when you get lost.” Back then, B&B felt much more familiar than Airbnb. Wi-Fi was slow, Google Maps didn’t exist yet, and I always carried a paper map. By the end of each trip, the worn-out map became one of my favourite souvenirs. Getting lost was simply part of travelling. I also carried a little notebook to write down thoughts and feelings along the way. It was such an analogue time to travel, and perhaps that’s why those journeys have stayed with me for so long. 2009. My first trip to Europe was Italy 🇮🇹 — and my first time travelling abroad completely on my own. I booked only my flights in and out and arrived in Florence, with one goal: to make it to the Venice Carnival & meet my friend in Milan. I never planned exactly where I would stay or how long I would stay. I trusted local people for advice and believed I would figure things out once I got there. If I liked a place, I simply stayed a little longer. “Just go with the flow.” That was how I travelled. Even when I got into unexpected situations, I somehow always found a way to enjoy them. I never believed everything had to go according to plan. Things not going as planned were simply part of travelling — and perhaps part of life too. I was never interested in seeing as many countries as possible, either. Even in one country, I wanted to slow down and experience it deeply. It was about living there for a little while. Walking through neighbourhoods, meeting locals, taking unplanned roads, and simply seeing where the day would take me. I travelled through Florence, Pisa, Rome, Sorrento, Positano and Naples before arriving in Venice for the Carnival. I fell in love with Venice and stayed a few extra days, getting lost more than once. ☺️ Then I met a local friend in Milan before returning to London. It’s probably no surprise that I still have such a special love for Italy. Everything feels a little more special when it’s your first. :) After that, I continued travelling around Europe in much the same way. My younger brother, watching me disappear into Europe every couple of months for 10–20 days, eventually said, “Are you crazy?” 😆 #lifejourney taken in Italy by @style.jee

🇦🇺 아침 러닝 루틴 8일째, 오늘로 5번째 러닝. 지난주부터 양치만 하고 바로 집 밖을 나서 러닝으로 하루를 시작중이다. 매일 아침 일찍 일어나 무의식적으로 폰부터 보는 습관을 고치려 하는데 생각보다 쉽지 않더라고.. 그러던 중 우연히 책에서 봤는데, 일어나자마자 바로 운동화를 신으래잖아? 이제 일주일이라 아직 습관이 됐다고 말하기엔 조금 이르지만, 매일 달라지는 바다와 하늘을 보며 하루를 시작하는 건 생각보다 훨씬 더 상쾌하고 기분이 좋다. 무엇보다 스스로한 한 약속을 지켰다는 작은 뿌듯함도 있고. ☺️ 다음 목표는 일출 보며 달리기! 🏃🏽‍♀️ 질러두면 당장은 아니더라도 언젠가는 하겠지? 🙈 인생은 어쩌면 작지만 내겐 의미있는 목표를 두고 하나씩 성취해가는 재미가 아닐까? 하는 생각. 💭 #beachrun #coogeebeach #morningroutine #fypage taken in Coogee Beach by @style.jee
