Hydrate first, moisturize second! 🫧🎀

🚨 TOOTHPASTE ON PIMPLES? PLEASE DON’T! 🪥❌
That DIY hack might feel like it’s drying out your pimple—but it can actually irritate and damage your skin barrier. 😭💔
🫧 Toothpaste isn’t formulated for facial skin.
🔥 Ingredients like menthol, baking soda & flavoring agents can cause irritation, dryness and burning.
😣 More irritation = more inflammation and potentially a worse-looking breakout.
✨ A pimple needs skincare, not toothpaste!
Save this before trying another viral DIY hack. 🎀🩷

YOUR SKIN ISN’T “PURGING” JUST BECAUSE IT GOT WORSE.
Seeing more breakouts after starting a new product doesn’t automatically mean it’s “working.” 👀
✨ Purging can happen with certain active ingredients that increase skin cell turnover — but not every breakout is purging.
If you’re experiencing: ❌ New breakouts in unusual areas
❌ Persistent worsening
❌ Burning or itching
❌ Redness and irritation
…it may be your skin saying: “This product isn’t for me.” 🥲
Before blaming your skin, check the ingredients, formula, frequency of use, and your skin’s tolerance. 🔍🧴

Pretty packaging doesn’t always mean better ingredients. 👀✨
Some ingredients can add fragrance, texture, or a luxurious feel without providing much benefit for your specific skin concern—and some may even irritate sensitive or acne-prone skin.
🌸 Think before you buy:
❌ Fragrance & essential oils
❌ Irritating alcohols for some skin types
❌ Overhyped “fancy” extracts
❌ Ingredients that don’t target your actual concern
💗 Instead, look for evidence-backed ingredients that match YOUR skin goals.
🧴✨ Spend smarter. Choose function over hype.

What's actually good about this formula?
It isn't just a "Vitamin C serum." It has a multi-active brightening formula:
Niacinamide + Ethyl Ascorbic Acid + Phenylethyl Resorcinol + Salicylic Acid
That's a pretty strong combination for:
uneven tone
dullness
dark spots
post-acne pigmentation
oily/congested skin
And glycerin + sodium hyaluronate provide hydration.
🚩 The biggest problem
Alcohol Denat. is the 3rd ingredient.
This is the part I would emphasize in an honest review.
Alcohol isn't automatically "bad," and it can make a serum feel light and help ingredients dissolve/penetrate. But when it's this high in the ingredient list, sensitive, dehydrated or barrier-impaired skin may find the formula drying, stinging or irritating.
And the formula also contains:
Parfum + Limonene + Linalool + Geraniol + citrus extract
So there are several potential irritation triggers.
For oily, sensitive, blackhead-prone skin?
I'd rate it approximately:
Brightening potential: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Oily skin compatibility: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Blackhead/pores: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Hydration: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆
Sensitive-skin friendliness: ⭐⭐☆☆☆
Important: what is NOT listed
I don't see parabens, sulfates or essential oils explicitly listed in this ingredient list.
But "paraben-free" doesn't automatically mean sensitive-skin friendly because the bigger concern here is the combination of high alcohol + fragrance allergens + acids. by @style.skin.makeup

Sunscreen vs. “Sunblock” — what’s the difference? ☀️✨
Spoiler: “Sunblock” is an outdated term — no sunscreen can literally block 100% of UV rays! 🫧💗
Modern sunscreens use UV filters to absorb, reflect, or scatter UV radiation and help protect your skin from UVA & UVB damage. 🧴✨
💡 Look for broad-spectrum SPF 30+ and reapply every 2 hours, especially outdoors or after sweating/swimming.

Why do your pores look different? It’s not always about “dirty” skin! 🫧🎀
Pore appearance can vary because of sebum, genetics, aging, sun damage, acne scars, and previous skin injury. 💗
🌸 4 common pore patterns:
1️⃣ Oil-related enlarged pores — often influenced by excess sebum & genetics
2️⃣ Aging-related pores — linked to collagen loss, sun damage & natural aging
3️⃣ Scar-related pores — associated with acne scars and previous skin injury
4️⃣ Different pore appearances — because your skin may have more than one contributing factor
💡 What can help?
🩷 Salicylic acid (BHA)
💙 Niacinamide
💜 Retinoids
☀️ Daily sunscreen SPF 30+
✨ Vitamin C
🌿 AHAs & professional treatments for selected concerns
Remember: You can’t permanently “close” your pores — but you can improve how they look! 🫧💕
🎀 Different pores, same goal: healthy, smooth & glowing skin. ✨ by @style.skin.makeup
