I heard we were talking about 2016…

The year I graduated college, moved to Detroit, and was figuring out adulthood while spending my days working retail, and nights at techno shows. Everything was so new and messy and fun and confusing and emotional and exhilarating. I’m so grateful for that time, but also for everything that’s changed in my life since then. The biggest thing I learned from this project: set the big goal.

When I first came up with this idea, I had several moments where I tried to talk myself out of my goal, telling myself I didn’t have enough time, it would be difficult, or I wouldn’t be able to find the right pieces. I’m so glad I didn’t listen to that voice in my head.

If there’s a project you’re putting off because it seems too big, too complex, or too daunting— just start. You could really surprise yourself. ❤️
