I don’t want you to think my account is just about buying clothes/beauty, it’s supposed to be so much more than that.

I’ve finally realised being in my 50’s, I’m done putting an age limit on happiness. ❤️

For years, I thought certain things weren’t “for me” anymore. Even going on a cruise made me hesitate because people said, “Aren’t they for old people?” 😂

But who decided that?

Our lovely Dolly Parton was always unapologetically herself, and I loved her confidence. She never allowed other people’s opinions or expectations to dictate how she should look, dress or live.

I’m learning that confidence isn’t about following the rules of what you should do at your age. It’s about doing more of what makes YOU happy.

That might be shopping and getting dressed up, but it’s also:

☕ Enjoying a quiet coffee
✨ Looking after my skin
🌍 Discovering somewhere new
❤️ Spending time with the people I love
🚢 Saying yes to experiences I once thought weren’t for me
📖reading before bed

You don’t have to wait for permission to try something new, change your style or enjoy life differently.

I don’t know about you, but I always struggle with that awkward transition from Summer to Autumn 🍂🤎

How I do my eyeliner on hooded eyes — without trying to make my eyes look like something they’re not!

If you have hooded eyes, you’ll know the struggle 😂 The liner can disappear, transfer or make your eyes look even smaller.

This is the technique that works for me, and I hope it helps you too! 🥰

If you have hooded eyes, stop scrolling 👀

I see so many eyeshadow hacks for hooded eyes in ladies who don’t actually have hooded eyes!

So thought I would give this hack a go and honestly I can say I was impressed ✅

I’m no makeup artist, just a woman in her 50’s trying the hacks and sharing the ones that work on me.

PS If you don’t have hooded eyes, you can still use the cotton pad, just place it lower and put the shadow in your crease 🧏‍♀️

I’ve seen so many adverts for the viral Halara trousers… so I had to try them out for myself 👀

Are they actually worth the hype?!

I’ll be honest, I was a bit worried when they took a while to be delivered…

But they’re ridiculously comfy, the waistband is elasticated (hello, middle-age spread 😂), they come in a variety of colours and lengths (petite for us short ar*e girlies 🤩) and I ended up buying them in TWO colours because… well, why wouldn’t I?!

But I want to know what you think? Do you like them, have you tried them or any other bits from Halara👇🏻

I’ll admit, I was a little nervous taking Mum to Ireland at 83… but I always book airport assistance for her, and I have to say, they were amazing. Everything went so smoothly. ❤️ @ryanair

Mum still loves a bit of shopping! 😂🛍️ But her real passion is books, and we found the perfect bookshop for her in Galway. 📚 ❤️

And honestly, she’s still got plenty of adventures left in her.

So glad we made these memories together. ❤️

I haven’t been shopping at Lakeside for a few years because, quite honestly, it’s a bit of a mission for me! 😂

But I was meeting family there on Saturday, so I thought I’d take the opportunity and give it a go.

I picked up a couple of tops… what do you think? 👇🏼

Looking back at the first brown top from M&S, I thought, “Hmm… maybe I should have worn a cami underneath because you can see my bra… and I’m 53!” 😂

Then I thought… it’s hot, it’s only a bra, and the girls aren’t the smallest! 😆

The other two tops are from Primark, and the cream bow top is definitely a little out of my comfort zone. Normally I’d shy away from baggier tops because I’d worry they’d make me look bigger.

But you know what? I love the style.

And that’s the mission for me now — confidence. ❤️

Not worrying about whether something makes me look bigger. Not hiding parts of myself. Just wearing what I like, having fun and feeling good in my 50s.

So here’s to stepping outside our comfort zones and wearing the bloody top! 😂❤️
