Approaching 30 bas been quite the emotional roller coaster. I’m still 3 weeks I away, and I get it—most of you will be like shut up Fi-wait till your “xx” and then you’ll really see; you’re right, I will. But I have had quite the year leading up and I just wanted to share some ruminations on this new decade in life.
🎀Turning 30 for a woman is rude. As a woman, you are expected to be married, have kids, and if not, you’re expected to find it asap, jump into any relationship, have babies fast because your biological clock is ticking. Unpopular opinion: you don’t have to have kids to make your life worth value or to provide value on this Earth. Each journey is our own, and should be your own, respectfully 🫶
⭐️I have learned that Women are MEAN. (Not to discredit true queens out there that do exist) But Like, y’all have 0% chill. I can’t tell you how many women want to see other women suffer. You have to be miserable, they resent your growth, happiness, etc. if you want to see a magic trick, set boundaries and you’ll see how quick you are cut off because you don’t serve purpose anymore. Some Women will deceive you behind your back—then call YOU the traitor, they will lie to get info, they pretend to be a friend to your face but they are enjoying watching you struggle. We all need to fix each other’s crowns and support one another a lot better than we have been.
💐Loving and accepting myself has been a very strange and kind of abusive journey. I always thought I was too mouthy, too honest, too this, too that. While learning grace/compassion for myself has been a true gift, I admit I accepted less than I deserved because I didn’t truly love myself. A few bad relationships and friendships later, I realized that the only time I’ve lost people is because I stood up for me and my truth. I took care of me. I said no, this ends here. I demand better for myself—and if by doing that makes me unlikable to some that’s ok. I learned to love me and I will find people that genuinely will too 🤍 thank you to those genuine people that supported me, and showed me true friendship and love. Last year I mourned the end of my 20’s with moody pictures. 29 was a year of deception, purge and destruction of who thought I was. Turning 30 was a new beginning and immensely liberating. This year I chose to celebrate my 30s dressed in white because I have never been happier and healthier in every single way 🎂🙆‍♀️ Thank you God for another year of abundance and blessings 🤲 and Hello 31!

Kitchen hair reminds me of where I came from 🥹
🌀Curly girls struggle to find a good stylist that will listen and respect their texture, enhance their shape, and learn their hair querks. As someone with a variety of textures, course hair and color treated hair, it’s a challenge I understand too well. The cuts I give are not a traditional shape or method, it’s not done to be even or structured. This is done based on feel, look, each curls temperament, and understanding geometrically the shape of your clients head and hair, and what you want each curl to portray when it falls. I always do a thorough consult with her, she has pictures, and I always ask her product routine and I ask questions during if I have a doubt. 7 years later, she waits for me. She trusts me. In return, I respect her hair, her expectations, and her hair. And then we make it fun!!! by @stylebyfiorella
