“UNGENDERED”

Her zaman aklımda bir yerlerde gezinen bir sosyolojik sorunun metaforik bir yansıması… bazı şeylerin hâlâ “erkek işi” olarak adlandırılması, bazı spor dalları, motor veya araba kullanmak, tamir, birtakım meslek grupları vb. hepsinin ortak noktası aslında güçle ilişkilendirilmeleri. Güç dediğimiz şeyin kaslı kollarla ya da maskülenlikle ölçülmesi gerekmiyor. Bakımlı olmak, ruj sürmek ya da feminenlik bunların hiçbirine engel değil.

O yüzden “ungendered”

A sociological question that lingers in my mind… Why are certain things still labeled as “men’s work”? Sports, driving, fixing, professions — all tied to the idea of power.
But power is not measured by muscles or masculinity. Being well-groomed, wearing lipstick, embracing femininity — none of these diminish strength.

That is why: ungendered.
