AUSTIN y’all got some down to earth and simply GORGEOUS girlies! 🤠 I had the pleasure this weekend giving this beautiful soul some of that CALI inspired beach hair 🌊✨

A little back story, we booked for a blonding service and when I had sectioned up the hair it was a whole different game plan. I realized it was a correction, a major one. the last photo explains why. Luckily she didn’t have a whole lot of unwanted shades going on, but what made this challenging was all the harsh lines of demarcation & unevenness.

Previous stylists kept over lapping traditional highlights over and over, also while leaving her under the drier for a faster processing time which was incredibly damaging. did not consider the texture or state of her hair. just did a quick job and sent her off 🥺💔💔 she is a natural dark blonde and did not need forced heat!! 🚫 normally I have my guest sit and wait- takes longer to process but worth it for a much cleaner and even lift rather than over-comprising.

As always everyone’s hair is different! I still get asked what is my pricing- it’s never a set price. I’m bringing modern looks. Today’s highlighting techniques isn’t the same as it was back in the day’s work! It’s a combination of teasy-lights, baby-lights, face frames, balayage tip-outs, root melts/ shadows & lastly, formulating a color that enhances & complements your complexion giving a beautiful modern style finish all while educating guest & sm more!

This has to be one of my favorite looks ever! It’s a shame I never wrote down the exact formula 😭😭 on a different note I quickly just want to mention about color correction services. Recently I’ve been getting a large amount of inquiries requesting to book for a regular highlight/ balayage service when in fact it’s corrective color.

A few things to know if it’s a color correction service if:

1) it’s obvious lol
2) uneven color, uneven lift, uneven highlights, patchy, splotchy, unwanted brassy, orangey & reddish tones, unblended etc
3) wanting a drastic change with so many past color

In my experience it’s non stop work for hours trying to correct and perfect as much as possible without damaging any further.

and to tell you the truth, not all corrective color sessions are doable.. some corrections you’re able to correct and some isn’t worth investing into. The integrity of your hair does matter aside from the unwanted color you may have. What you’ve done in the past, will always have an effect later. Nowadays It’s common where I’m respectfully suggesting clients to return to their natural hair color along w/ a beautiful haircut & come back in about 2-3 years maximum if they would still like to transition their hair into blonde once the hair is at a healthier state. 🌟 no matter what, healthy hair will always be the best for you 🌟 as a colorist it’s always appreciated to work with no complications & for your hair withstand future lightening services/ sessions. hope this gives an idea & general understanding.
