MISSION COMPLETE 🙏🏾💯 I successfully creative directed and produced an incredible Art x Photo Exhibition during the famous Miami Art Week/Art Basel!! A HUGE shoutout to EVERYONE that helped make this dream come true. Whether it was your direct involvement or just allowed me to vent and be vulnerable during the rough times. I greatly appreciate you. You truly kept me sane.
Words can’t describe how proud I am with how everything came together in the end 🙏🏾 To everyone that was able to join me at my Opening Night Event, thank you too!!

Every time I’m in Kingston, I make my way back to Devon House. Built in 1881 by Jamaica’s first Black millionaire. Still standing, still inspiring and still drawing people in. Proof that one idea, built right, can outlive the person who had it and grow for generations 🤲🏾✨ I’m working on something special. Stay tuned 💯

One day after scoliosis surgery, Kaheelia (@katrillionz) was already making plans. Finishing her SBAs. Heading to the beach. Finally learning how to swim 🌊💚

In her words: “To me, this has been holding me back… so whenever I get the chance to do whatever I actually put my mind to, I’m willing to take it.”

That’s resilience 💯 And it took real courage for her and her family to trust us. She told us our surgeons came in prepared to walk her through the pros and cons, and that she never once felt neglected. She felt heard. She felt seen. That kind of trust is something we never take lightly. To our incredible team of surgeons, to the entire medical team at KPH, and to our donors and sponsors: this is what your skill, your donations and your care made possible 🙏🏾

As special as this moment is for Kaheelia, it’s just as special for us. Being trusted to help someone reclaim their life and get back to the dreams they’ve been holding onto is an honor our whole Back to Healing team carries with us. Stories like hers are the reason we do what we do 🤲🏾✨

Healing Minds & Spines is @backtohealing_org’s global spine care and surgical education program. Every year, we return to provide free corrective scoliosis surgery for patients from underserved communities. Our senior spine surgeons lead each case side by side with Jamaican surgeons, fellows and residents, sharing expertise that strengthens spine care across the island and keeps making an impact long after our team flies home ✈️

Healing is not only physical. It’s emotional, mental and deeply personal. And Kaheelia is just getting started ❤️🇯🇲

6 surgeries. 4 operating days. 2 hospitals. One mission. And all three of Jamaica’s biggest media houses took notice. 🇯🇲💯

I’m honored to share that Back to Healing’s Healing Minds & Spines mission was featured by the @jamaicaobserver, @jamaicagleaner and @tvjnews 🤲🏾✨

‘Healing Minds & Spines’ is @backtohealing_org’s global spine care and surgical education program. We provide free corrective surgery for individuals living with complex and severe scoliosis 💚 We also invest in the clinical teams who will carry that care forward ✊🏾Our senior spine surgeons operate side by side with Jamaican surgeons, residents and fellows through mentorship, lectures, case review and hands-on training. The goal is care that keeps growing long after our team flies home 👏🏾

We opened the surgical week in partnership with UHWI, the University Hospital of the West Indies, with two complex cases over the first two operating days. We closed it at KPH, Kingston Public Hospital, with four more, running two operating rooms at the same time.

To my Back to Healing surgeon team and our entire medical team: thank you‼️ Your skill and commitment made every one of those cases possible. To UHWI and KPH: thank you for your professionalism and for a partnership that gets stronger every time we return 🫱🏾‍🫲🏿 And to our donors and partners: your continued support is what gets us into those operating rooms. None of this happens without you 🙏🏾🙌🏾💯

Being recognized never gets old. But the real headline is six patients moving forward with more confidence and getting back to their goals and dreams!! That’s why we keep showing up. Healing is not only physical. It’s emotional, mental and deeply personal.

Surgical education that only moves in one direction isn’t education. It’s a visit.

We at @backtohealing_org started this week in the auditorium at Kingston Public Hospital — lectures, presentations, mentorship, hands-on training, side by side with Jamaican fellows, residents, and local surgeons. And our own U.S. fellows and residents get what no rotation at home can give them: complex cases they may never see, let alone handle, in a full career ✨

Then the ORs. Two complex cases at the University Hospital of the West Indies to open. Four more at KPH to close, two rooms running at the same time. Six spines, two hospitals, not one simple case among them ❤️‍🔥

That’s the model. Teach in both directions, then prove it under the lights.

Incredible team. And to the eleven partners who funded this year’s mission — every one of you is named in the first comment. None of this exists without you. Thank you!!

The first ‘Spines That Rock’ event in Nashville is in the books!! 🙌🏾💯🔥

Thank you to every person who came out, showed up for us, and gave to make this happen. And thank you to every person on that stage, who lent us the talent most rooms have to book a year out for and asked for nothing back — country music’s own HITMAKERS, Hall of Famers and Billboard-charting writers 🏅🥇🏆

That’s how the first ‘Spines That Rock’, by @backtohealing_org, got built.
And it was held right inside one of Nashville’s staples, @listeningroomcafe. It was a songwriters round — which, if you’ve never sat in one, is the most honest room in music. No band. No production. Just the writers on stools telling you where a song came from before they play it.

A HUGE shoutout to @tinaparol for putting this entire fundraiser event together.
@victoriashawmusic @levihummon @tinaparol and @cjsolar gave us songs you already know by heart and the stories behind them — where they were written, who they were for, the meaning behind them, and more. daniellebreezytv of News Channel 2 hosted, and carried it live to promote before we ever opened the doors 💯👏🏾 She made it a special night.

Thank you to Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital for backing it, and for standing shoulder to shoulder with us in both Kingston and Nashville 🤝

As you can see, the work that we do at Back to Healing is truly life-changing. We help scoliosis patients around the world reclaim their lives — emotionally, mentally and physically — on spinal curves ranging from 57 to 125 degrees through one of our medical mission dedicated programs, ‘Healing Minds & Spines’.

I wanted to show you these corrections on screen because nothing I write lands harder than watching it happen.

Thank you to our incredible team of world-renowned orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons specializing in spine care, and to all of our partners, sponsors and donors. We couldn’t do this without you 🤲🏾✨

Settle a debate for me!

I’ve got a 120lb dumbbell in each hand. My gym friends swear that’s 240lbs total — same logic as a bench press, 45 plates on each side plus the bar gets called 135, not 45.

I say the number on the dumbbell is the number I’m lifting (120)- nothing more, nothing less!

Who’s right? 🤔
