Another SR has entered the chat…

Whilst I was out in Australia, I got a message one night from @rotsanii saying that he was considering selling his 97 1.3 SR and I just couldn’t say no to the offer.

As some of you may know, I have talked about owning a Black SR or Super S for many years now so this truly is a dream come true for me. (The Holy Grail Of K11s)

Now what makes the SR so special compared to the GX you ask? Well although it shares the same 1.3 CG13DE, the SR has a faster turn to lock ratio, a factory rear disc axle & abs set up, bulkier colour coded bumpers with the additional front fog lights aswell as having the bolstered sportier styled seats & interior which everyone wants. DVLA states that there’s only 2 Black SR’s left that are on the road which makes it extremely rare and sought after.

Luckily for me, Brandon has already given the car some tasteful mods which I would’ve done such as @bcracing_uk coilovers, a @gizfab Poly Bush subframe & a full UEL system, aswell as the 14x6 Sprintharts.

Now as for the white car, this does change up a few things, The SR may potentially become the shell swap & replacement for BTA, As much as I have a very big sentimental attachment to it, I feel as if building the SR will be better not only rarity wise but longevity wise also but time will tell.

The Rebuild - Part 5

I’ve been slacking recently on the rebuild so I thought I’d free up more time to actually getting it closer to being done, the bay is stripped, the underside is basically down to bare metal, found some more rust but at least I’ve found it now rather than later on

Had the boys pop down to chill & talk about cars and @jdm_bny decided to mog all of us with his new s14 (slightly jealous)

However, the rebuild will be slowing down again very soon as I’m off solo travelling around Australia for a few months but once I’m back it’s game time.

1 Year Ago Vs Now

A year ago today I took my favourite photo of my K11, It’s almost been a year since I took the car off the road & it’s quite evident that I miss it a lot, however, the show must go on, we’ve got a race car to finish.

I can’t believe I’m actually saying this but after 12yrs of this thing being dead & abandoned in my garden, My Cooper S is alive!!

The last time I heard this run I was 9yrs old and all the memories just started flooding back again, I can’t believe that it only needed a few hours of tinkering to get it sorted but I’m over the moon

It’ll still need some work before she’s on the road but nonetheless I’m looking forward to what’s to come with it

The Rebuild - Part 4

Thought I’d give it a go cleaning up my boot floor & arches over the past couple of days before it goes in to get welding & paint done. I sanded back to bare metal & treated the surface rust aswell as painted it all up afterwards which turned out great (mostly)

Aswell as that I thought it would be the perfect time to take my petrol tank out and clean underneath as I need to bare metal the underside in the next couple of weeks.

Either way I’m very happy with how the cars transforming even if it’s taking longer than I first anticipated.

The Rebuild - Part 3

As much as I’ve wanted to do more on the k11, life does sometimes get in the way, bad weather, time & my very impractical yet baller purchase of a k10 thanks to @t0m.kimble

Told myself that I wouldn’t be building any more cars this year as I’ve got the k11 & mini to finish but I know what I’m like & I just couldn’t say no to a white k10 to match my k11, luckily it’s nearly finished so I can keep cracking on with my other projects.

With regards to the k11, I finally put it back on the ground & rolling, all that’s left is to dry ice the old sound deadening & then I can do the welding and paint.

The Rebuild - Part 2

Been extremely busy working so finding the time to work on the car has been difficult especially with the weather, however I’ve managed to find at least 4/6hrs a day where I can work on it so here is some more progress.

Put more effort into getting my loom sorted (it still needs more doing on it) but so far so good, had the boys over for a few days helping out with a few little bits (eg Kieron & Lee extending the rear wiring and tucking it around the tubs)

then tonight I decided to just go fully at my engine and finally get it out and started & finished tearing it down ready to be sent off to get the work done on it, also if you didn’t see on my story I am going to be running CBR600 Carbs so it’ll sound mega when it’s all done.

I’ve just got a few more little things to get stripped & then I can send the car off to get welding & the start of the paint process.

Also just a quick side note, thankyou all so much for 2k followers, Ik it isn’t a lot but the fact that you all seem to love this car as much as I do it means a lot to me so thankyou, as always - stylematters.jp

The Rebuild - Part 1

I thought I would document the process of my rebuild as I want to have memories to look back on & the progress this car has had. The past nearly 2yrs of driving the car has taken its toll, and sadly in a lot of ways this car was bodged wether that was to meet deadlines for shows or just quick easy fixes so I could continue to daily it so I thought it was only right to do it all properly now how I had always envisioned.

I’ve spent the last few weeks stripping the car down, re-wiring & re-taping the several wiring looms, cleaning bits up ect ect ready to get started on treating the rust.

I’ve still got to move some more wiring inside the car & got to get the engine out but so far so good, I did originally intent to set a 6 month deadline to get the car finished, however as I’ve done in the past I don’t want to rush anything & it makes my life a lot more difficult so expect to see progress updates here & there

I appreciate all the support, a lot of you have wondered where I have been and what I’ve been up to so here we are - stylematters.jp

well safe to say this year just keeps on getting better & better, after 12yrs my Cooper S is finally out of the garden and is ready to be rebuilt, the younger me is kinda at a loss for words rn as I genuinely didn’t think it was ever gonna happen but it’s real and it’s happening, as for the micra that is finally back so I can fully start working on it, also thought I’d throw in the last photo I got of the Corolla as I’m still shocked that I’ve managed to afford all of these at my age. see ya’ll in 2026!!
