I’ve been invited to speak at a powerful panel hosted by the Harlem Family Institute a pioneering psychoanalytic institute dedicated to serving Harlem’s youth and families for over three decades. I will be speaking from my lens as a creative who is a life coach for those navigating creative purpose, identity work, and emotional clarity in a system that often overlooks them.

I’ll be joining:

Pulitzer Prize-nominated journalist @leehawkinsworld , author of I Am Nobody’s Slave, discussing his new book I Am Nobody’s Slave and the essential work of healing generational trauma.

Michael Connolly, MPA, LP, NCPsyA – President of HFI, psychoanalyst, editor, and Harvard MPA

Rev. Sheila Johnson, LP, MPS (Psych) – Clinical Director of HFI, licensed psychoanalyst, and trauma specialist

Together, we’ll be exploring the topic:
“What major trends are affecting the mental well-being of marginalized groups and how can creative pursuits become a tool for healing and growth?

My work lives at the intersection of emotional clarity, creative expression, and empowered identity and this conversation is part of that mission.

If you’re exploring identity, healing, or creative purpose, I’d love to have you in the room. Tickets for @harlemfamilyinstitute event are on @eventbrite

Sometimes the help we’re praying for doesn’t look the way we expected. It shows up as opportunities, people, conversations, or even uncomfortable situations that push us to move, but if you’re only looking for a perfect sign, you might miss what’s already been given to you.
At Styling The Mind, we focus on helping you recognize and act on the opportunities that align with your growth, instead of waiting for everything to feel certain. If you’ve been feeling stuck or like nothing is changing, this might be the shift you need.

As the year comes to an end, it’s normal to look back at your decisions and feel unsure.
Some of them might feel like mistakes. Some of them might make you wonder if you made the right choice. Some of you might even feel like you didn’t achieve enough this year.
Here’s the thing: every choice you made, every path you took, every “wrong” step led you to where you are now. It shaped your growth, your clarity, and the person you’re becoming.
StylingTheMind is about seeing your decisions clearly and using them to move forward with purpose. The year isn’t over, it’s just setting the stage for what comes next.
Double tap if you’re ready to step into the next chapter with confidence.

Now more than ever, we should understand that mental health is not something we can keep ignoring or pushing aside. Mental health isn’t something people should only pay attention to when everything starts falling apart. It affects how we think, feel, respond to stress, show up in relationships, and move through everyday life. That’s why emotional check-ins matter.
At StylingTheMind, we help people reconnect with themselves through coaching focused on clarity, self-understanding, confidence, and emotional alignment

We often hear voices that make us doubt ourselves. Maybe someone said you couldn’t wear that, couldn’t try that, or shouldn’t be that bold. Slowly, that fearless confidence we had as kids starts to fade, but it doesn’t have to. The confidence you had as a little girl is still inside you. It’s not gone, it’s waiting for you to claim it, to style your mind, and move through the world with the same fearlessness you once had.
If you need help gaining that confidence back, StylingTheMind as a community can help you. We offer coaching services that can help you step into your power and reclaim your confidence.

Let’s be real, a lot of people know how they feel, but they still don’t know how to deal with what they feel.
They can say I feel stressed, I love this person, I’m not okay, but when it’s time to actually sit with those feelings, they run from it, pretend it’s not there or stay busy so they don’t have to feel it. That’s emotional avoidance.
Those feelings won’t go away, they show up later as overthinking, or emotional fatigue, because understanding your feelings is not the same as dealing with them.
This is where emotional awareness comes in. It simply means you can recognize what you are feeling in the moment
But emotional intelligence and emotional maturity is what helps you understand those feelings, regulate your response, and not run from discomfort
And when you understand the feeling but still avoid sitting with it, that becomes emotional avoidance
At StylingTheMind, we offer coaching services with our certified life and wellness coach that can help you move from just noticing your emotions to actually understanding and handling them in real life

Living differently doesn’t mean quitting everything. It means becoming more aware of how you’re spending your time and what you’re giving your energy to. Most people don’t realise how fast time is moving until they feel like they’ve wasted too much of it.

At Styling The Mind, we focus on helping you reconnect with what actually matters so you can move through life with intention, not just routine.

A lot of what we follow was passed down, absorbed, or expected of us
without us ever stopping to ask if it actually aligns with who we are becoming

And over time, if we never pause to question it, we can slowly drift into versions of ourselves that don’t feel fully like us anymore

At StylingTheMind, we believe awareness is where real change begins because once you can see the pattern, you no longer have to live inside it unconsciously
