Been a few years since I initially did my Precision Nutrition cert. A lot has changed since then.

Stepped away from PT/Coaching as I thought I needed a “real career”, 2 years later, I realised I was just pushing off what I actually wanted.

Through all the ups and downs, training has been the one consistent even when I let my nutrition slip. After running myself into the ground for a job I thought was going to be my career, I now know how important looking after yourself and your mental well-being is. Really focusing on eating well has made me feel so much better in myself, not just in how I look, but in my outlook on things too. My training has improved so much over the past few months and I’m excited to see where it will continue to go.

I want to help people improve their nutrition because I know how much it’s helped me. Performance, body comp, self worth, energy levels have all improved massively by just looking after myself and what I’m eating.

I’ve now started taking on clients,

💥 Hiring a coach doesn’t guarantee results.
But showing up consistently, especially when life gets messy? That’s where the real wins happen.

My clients don’t need to be perfect.
They just need to be willing.
Willing to plan ahead, check in honestly, and keep going.. even when it’s not ideal.

✨ Imperfect action > inaction, always.

If you’re a hardworking athlete who’s ready to fuel performance with structure, support, and no-BS strategies

Some of the Nutrition team competed recently in IPF Worlds and Scottish Classics

Huge stand out performances by both ladies, going 9/9 and making huge progress to their totals👏🏻

@girlscityfitnesstv not only adding almost 30kg to her total but securing medals in squat, deadlift and total. Aquinn now holds the biggest ever female deadlift in the IPF, 292.5kg👏🏻 (coached by @peejskwaats )

@cat.barbell also added 15.5kg to her total, secured gold overall in the 84+kg category and now holds the biggest ever female squat in the Scottish IPF, 210.5kg👏🏻 (coached by @lift_ng )

Both ladies are absolutely smashing it and I’m honoured to play a small part in their journeys through helping with nutrition. Excited to see what the future holds by @styrka.performance

1 thing about me: I’m gonna make my food taste nice🤣

I used to think I had to keep meals really small so I could have lots of room for snacks but in reality that just kept me stuck and constantly feeling hungry or bingeing by the time evening came around

Instead, I’ve prioritised my main meals and made them satiating, nutritious and tasty.

To make a meal:
I start with a protein source
Then a carb source
Then I look at what fruit/veg & or fibre I can get in
Then I think about a fat source and what seasonings I’d like/how I want to cook the meal (insta is a great source of inspo but don’t only look at food if you’re currently dieting, it’s gonna make it a lot harder haha)

Most of the meals I have I just rotate them and have a few on the go each week depending on what I want/what’s in the cupboard. Every now and again I’ll change things up but most of the time the meals are very similar and it works!

(I’ve been having my overnight oats for breakfast pretty much every day for almost a year now🤣) by @styrka.performance

A bad set doesn’t equal a bad session

You’ve failed a rep or it didn’t move the way you wanted it to?

Don’t let this set the tone for the rest of the session (or worse, just leave without finishing it)

- Figure out why it happened: push too hard, externals, technical issue? Try to understand why it didn’t go as planned

- Have your cry: doesn’t have to be literally but have a moment to be annoyed/upset - let it out.

- Then move on: if it was strength, pull the weight back, focus on making the rest of the session move well! If it was technical, make a note and practice in your working sets. Put your ego aside. You can still push your accessories with intensity and finish the session on a good note

Through my 9 years of powerlifting, I’ve realised you have to let these things go, use the frustration to fuel the rest of your session, don’t just avoid it.

Some recent wins for the powerlifting team

@cicelyameliaa making 140kg look like an opener on her 3rd attempt🔥 before this, her best deadlift was 130kg

@lindseydoyle1997 hitting a rep pb of 165kg x4 in sleeves, having never even done this weight for a single! Very excited to see where this prep takes her!

@zak_sh33hy hitting a very comfy 150kg x1 bench single, looking like a pb is very likely on the horizon soon👏🏻

@dunnemichaelmucky hitting 177.5kg x2 squat PB, before we peak for masters nationals in a few weeks

@stevegiles8 edging very close to his long term goal of a 200kg squat. 197.5kg in comp moved excellent, we’re gonna have to increase that goal😎

@caitlin.rogan with a 42.5kg bench triple, just 2.5kg below her comp max! Getting very close to benching over bodyweight soon!

@chcampbell_fitness smoking 67.5kg at her last comp. Having failed this weight before, we wanted to tick it off. Red plates 🔜

Yes gaining weight and not eating low calories can be daunting but there’s so much positives that come from genuinely eating enough (and well) prioritising strength and just allowing your body to grow by @styrka.performance

Powerlifting is a marathon, not a sprint. If you can stay long term enjoying the process, relatively injury free and making progress, you’ll likely get very far.

Recently we’ve had 2 of the team compete - both showed up and had great days! Taking home pbs all round and both going 9/9

@stevegiles8 with a 10kg total pb in the M3 u105 category, Steve’s highlight was a big 192.5kg squat (getting closer to his long term goal of 200kg!)
Handled by @cakelifter101

@zak_sh33hy competed at the Irishpf Feb open, first time as a u93kg since early 2024. A lot of work has gone into this return to platform and he smashed it! 9/9 and added 22.5kg to his u93 total. His highlight was a 275kg deadlift to round off a perfect day

Next up for both lifters is Bench Nationals (British & Irish)
