“Sando Gown”

- A white sando is perhaps one of the most familiar pieces in a Filipino wardrobe. It’s simple, unpretentious, and deeply rooted in everyday life. It belongs to the ordinary: worn at home, under a barong, on a hot afternoon, or simply as something we grew up seeing.

The humble sando is reimagined into the silhouette of a gown, allowing something so ordinary to carry a sense of occasion, movement, and presence.

For the designer, it is also a playful questioning of how we have come to associate certain clothes with masculinity or femininity. A piece so closely tied to the everyday Filipino man is given the grandeur of a gown, softening the boundaries between what is considered masculine and feminine. taken in World Trade Center by @su.yenne
