Fun Sunday in Montréal. 🏃‍♀️🏀🍜🛝☀️

We’re in the last few days of preparation before heading to Iowa for the Junior Olympics and some of Mikael’s basketball buddies offered to race Brooklyn in the 1500m to keep her in race-shape. 🙏

She ran a 6:10m, which is about 3 seconds slower than her personal best which she ran at Nationals a few weeks ago.

We’ve been trying our best to keep her ready. It hasn’t been easy replicating the conditions we had in Miami (her training schedule, running with her teammates, the weather, etc), but she cares a lot and keeps showing up, and sometimes I forget and need to be reminded that her best is all we can ask for.

She had little and big supporters come out and cheer, and then we ended the day hanging with family and friends.

Looks like word got out about this “race” and we already have more basketball buddies signed up for a rematch race next Sunday. 😂

So thankful for these boys and for all the help they are giving us, and for keeping this fun for all of us ❤️
