60 years of music, culture and community. This year marked a huge milestone for @nhcarnivalldn, celebrating six decades since the first outdoor procession took to the streets of west London in 1966. Since then, Carnival has grown into one of the world’s biggest street festivals and an internationally recognised celebration of Caribbean culture, creativity and music. For Subfrantic, having been involved with Carnival for over half of those 60 years, celebrating this landmark birthday is particularly special. For the past 12 years, @yamaha_proaudio_official digital mixing systems have played an important role in helping us deliver The Experience in Lagos, one of the world’s largest gospel concerts. In 2018, Yamaha did a post on the role their audio mixing equipment played in the event, highlighting the introduction of PM10 into the project. Eight years after their original post our work at The Experience has again been featured by Yamaha, this time concentrating on how the brand's involvement in the event has developed and how we've continually integrated their new technologies into our workflow. This latest case study takes a closer look behind the scenes at the 20th edition of the event, where more than 500,000 people attended across the 12-hour production where our team worked alongside the House On The Rock's technical crew to deliver another huge show. Covering the evolution of the audio setup, this article talks about the RIVAGE PM10 and DM7 systems, the move to a fibre-based network and how the technology has developed alongside the event over the years. There are also some great insights from our MD Steve Davies and House on the Rock's Head of Audio, @eben_odunlami on the challenges of delivering a production of this scale and why reliability is so important. The role will be split between working on site at gigs and events and spending time at our South London warehouse, prepping and de-prepping equipment and developing your knowledge of the kit we use. Three festivals. One seriously impressive summer. This summer we were pleased to support @renmakesmusic as his live show headed to @allpointseastuk, @boomtownfairofficial and @boardmasters. Our involvement started before the festival stages, providing rehearsal spaces and pre-production support at Subfrantic, before supplying the audio and production package that headed out with the show. One to watch. 👀 We were very happy to welcome @villanellemusic to Subfrantic for rehearsals ahead of their appearances at @officialrandl Festivals last month. Described by their management as a "UK-based, grunge-leaning rock band", Villanelle are already making their mark, building a growing following and playing some brilliant stages along the way.
