Introducing SubGrid Social Download Store. Think Beatport but better (but way more fair on artists and labels, not Beatports 50% cut, but 13%, less than Bandcamp).

Note: Tracks used in demo are not currently in store. Upgraded users can load outside file. Only mixes with store tracks can be shared on the platform. by @subgrid_music

Killing two birds with one stone...

One, playing an unreleased tune by our founders drum and bass artist project (BaSys).

Two, showing another demo of mixing with SubGrids DJ system. Users can mix any track in the download store, record and share mixes in the many sub genre community groups (where tracks can be bought as well).

Note: By default you can only mix tracks from the store, if you want to use your own files, upgrade your account. Demo tracks used here not currently in store. Other track is Audio - Omega by @subgrid_music

This is an example of a user recorded DJ mix of tracks in the SubGrid store. Any recorded mix (recorded in mixer events, not audio) can be posted in the feed or subgenre community groups. Other users can then watch/ listen to another users mix and see all their mixer moves.

Do we need a new music download platform?

Beatport. Decent website but takes around 50% of the money, that isn't right in my opinion. Shops used to use the 50% markup rule, but they had physical stores, rent, bills, customer service.

Bandcamp Only 15% comission, so much more reasonable in that respect. Website looks like it was designed on Windows 95. Not many features.

What if you had a platform, that charged less commission than Bandcamp (at 10%). Users could DJ mix tracks before they buy (on mobile and desktop), emulating the old school record shops like BlackMarket where you could road test tracks out before purchase. What if this platform had a community group for every single subgenre, where you could sell tracks directly in those groups. Labels and artists could also have Patreon style subscriptions.

Well now there is such a platform called SubGrid, we already have a few labels involved. Label heads, this is a no lose situation. If you want to upload some (last 4 releases is the minimum) or all of your catalogue get in contact. The platform never touches the labels cut, you create a Stripe Connect account (in less than 1 minute usually) through SubGrid and the money comes directly to you (after 1 or 2 days) like how Bandcamp operates.

Let's not settle for average platforms. Lets build something better. We are open to any adding any features users ask for. You can also record and share mixes (Record is not in audio, rather DJ mixer events, so the mixes only play back in platform). Link in bio. by @subgrid_music

Guys you can now DJ mix ROOT 97 tracks in store at SubGrid Social Download Store (Including tracks by @nemeandnb and @high_there_dnb) It's similar to Rekordbox (but works on mobile as well) in that auto scans grids and cue points are editable. The idea was to bring back the old school record shop vibe where you could road test tracks before buying. It's not the best example of mixing lol so I'll probably make a few videos. Another idea was, you can record your mixes (inside the player, not just the audio) and users could share mixes in one of the subgenre community groups).

LABELS add your catalogue to the store and have less commission than @bandcamp https://sub-grid.com/ (Link also in bio) by @subgrid_music

Fancy a DJ mix right now? Even on your phone? Well now you can on SubGrid Social Download Store. It would help if you liked Drum and Bass since that's all we currently have lol (we are starting out). Any genre Labels hit us up and add your catalogue and get less commission taken than Bandcamp. Check it out by clicking "Explore Sub-Grid DJ as Guest", and be part of the beta test. https://sub-grid.com/ (Link also in bio) by @subgrid_music

Easy guys, ROOT 97 will be the first label on SubGrid, a new social download store, which is social media for music only but also you can sell track directly in the feed. There is sub genre group chats similar Facebook but better because you can natively post YouTube and Soundcloud tracks in the feed. When artist profiles (we are starting with label profiles) are live we will offer Patreon style subscriptions. Comment on features that should be added. Also, any person with serious music business experience, lets see if we can work together. by @subgrid_music
