I'm nearly recovered from trans pride and I'm so so proud of us! Proud of the rage and resistance, the love and creativity and resilience. Proud of me and @notyetarobot for putting together the Acts of Resistance trans pride weekender at @theactorsbrighton, proud and grateful to all the amazing acts and DJs and community stalls who made it such a phenomenal event, proud of @ww.andia for being an icon and hosting the street party with me, proud of @joeriphcosudell for moving mountains to make this happen, proud and grateful to everyone who worked and volunteered and supported. Let this be the fuel for the fight, we got us.

Love and rage to everyone at London Trans Pride this weekend

It’s tonight!! Our FINAL trans pride weekender events!

Come and see punk and cabaret legend @charlieprobablywood present her debut play @gardenbrides - 7pm upstairs theatre - ticket link in bio.

The Garden Brides
A heteropessismist horror comedy - The Garden Brides is the story of Teresa - a lonely housewife in a small english village who becomes mysteriously enamoured by her neighbour’s new garden gnome. She starts seeing it in strange dreams that become more passionate and… sensual? She forms an uneasy alliance with Catherine, another housewife who has also been drawn to the same lawn ornament. A deeper and more confusing connection builds between the two women as they fall deeper into their psychosexual gnome cult. A surreal tale of otherworldly desire written by and starring punk rock cabaret icon Charlie Wood. by @subi_ra

Thinking of coming to the Actors Trans Pride Street Party tomorrow? Heres some practical things to know ahead of arriving

There will be one entrance point with security.
Please bring ID! Under 18s and those without IDs are welcome before 7pm.

There will be bag searches. Please don’t bring a billion things in a giant bag, keep it to a small A4 sized bag if possible, to keep the lines moving quickly.

There will be wheelchair ramps on the curbs, for easier movement through the event. Please keep those ramps clear so people can use them if they need.

Toilets! There will be portaloos outside to the back of the street party, and we have one accessible portaloo. There are a couple of steps to get inside the pub, and within the pub are multiple stalls, urinals and one accessible toilet. All our toilets are gender neutral, obvs.

Earplugs will be available at the bar, and with security if needed.

Please consider not attending if you have viral symptoms. Keep our community safe. Brighton Mask Bloc will be handing out respirator masks at the Disability Action Brighton stall!

There are some events that will be happening upstairs in our theatre. This is up a fairly narrow staircase with railings.

Its going to be hot! Please keep drinking lots of water and taking breaks from the sun.

If you need any assistance, please let our bartenders or security know. by @subi_ra

Here are our final incredible acts for our Trans Pride Weekender Street Party!!

We are presenting their theatre production on Sunday, but she’ll be gracing our Street Party with her cabaret acts it’s the amazing Charlie Wood!

They are the cohost and producer of the cult favourite cabaret night Miss Ellaneous along with Frankie Thompson and the lead singer of viral orchestral punk band THWACK!. They are also an award winning (and losing) playwright, substandard gardener and dreamer of dreams. They have a lot of very arresting paper mache costumes and a passion for customer service!

And rounding off our Street Party line up is local legend Ocarina!!

OCARINA is an popstar, producer and poet, putting the ‘style’ in disorganised attachment style. This multi-diciplinary, multiplicitous, miscellaneous artist traverses music, arts & crafts and drag creating unique, compelling and iconic performances. Constructing their work using whatever bits and bobs they come across, physically and metaphorically, to get you singing, dancing and even crying.

and , if that wasn’t enough - introducing your Afterparty DJ’s who will keep the party going inside!

Brighton’s hyperpop princess, DJ Girlfag returns to her spiritual home at The Actors for a 2-hour journey exploring the outer limits of hard dance!

Expect an eclectic blend of hard techno, DnB, hyperpop, jungle, hardstyle, dubstep, and a whole lot of fucked up pop remixes 😈

And QUIETING will be playing Sweet Sweet House Music All Night Long. xx

SO, we’ll see you there!! The Street Party is free to enter and unticketed but (if you haven’t already) do book tickets for Extraordinary Acts Cabaret (Friday) and the Garden Brides Theatre Show (Sunday)! by @subi_ra

Following on from yesterday, here are some more incredible acts and DJ’s for our Trans Pride Weekender Street Party!! ✨

Alex Fincher is a multi-talented artist breaking boundaries in the world of music and entertainment. This singer-songwriter, music producer, and mesmerising drag performer is a force to be reckoned with. Alex’s musical journey transcends genres, as they seamlessly blend R&B, hip-hop, metal, pop and dance music into a unique and electrifying sound that defies categorisation. Their songs take listeners on a sonic odyssey, exploring the depths of human emotion

Them There Cowboys are three good ol’ theys who bring energetic, twangin’, queer tunes of liberation from the old west that never was. Lurching from sublime to ridiculous, with yee-haws and haw-yees all the way through; heart melters, booty shakers and fist raisers guaranteed. You ain’t never heard no cuntry music like this before!

And rounding off our street party we are mega excited to welcome DJ CHEZA LUCINA who has been taking the scene by storm. A co-founder of @Bumpah.ldn, co-director of @FeltSoundSystem, and resident producer with @Popola_uk and @GoldfatMusic, Cheza’s reach continues to expand across the underground and beyond. Their sets fuse cultural Caribbean, UK & Global Bass influences into high-energy, multi-genre journeys. Their sound spans genres rooted in Afro, Caribbean, and Latinx cultures — from amapiano, soca, bouyon, and dembow to UK underground staples like jungle, juke, dubstep, garage, and funky house — all tied together through their signature Jungle x Soca blend. .

CHEZA LUCINA knows how to move a dancefloor — so dress to sweat when they’re on the decks.

We’ll be announcing more acts over the next couple of days, so get excited - stay hydrated and (if you haven’t already) book tickets for Extraordinary Acts (Friday) and the Garden Brides (Sunday)! by @subi_ra

We’ve announced Friday 17 and Sunday 19 events for our Trans Pride Weekender but who do we have performing for the Saturday Street Party?! 🎉

Get ready, because here’s our first performers announcement! 📣

Subira Joy and Wandia Nduku are back again hosting your Trans Pride Street Party at the Actors! Both mixed-Black trans poets, performers, creatives, these twins will be bringing energy, ferocity, fun, and of course, a good helping of double trouble!

Next up - British-American multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Zoë Ravenwood became a being of pure sound after getting bit by a radioactive David Bowie LP in her youth. Often compared to artists such as Melissa Etheridge, Joni Mitchell, and Lucinda Williams, Zoë blends neo-folk/indie-rock songwriting style and lyricism with eclectic-yet-accessible alternate tunings, rhythms, and structure.

Mild Peril is a genderfuck Asian drag artist who brings camp, sex, and political satire to the stage. They are the creator of the alternative drag cabaret 101 Damn Asians and a finalist of competitions such as Lipsync1000, Top of the Slops and NADC. You can find them dancing, stripping and/or terrorising an audience across the UK.

And our first DJ announcement is Brighton favourite and co-founder of @galpalsclub the legendary Xzan! A mainstay of the Queer club scene for the last 10 years, they are known for their hyperactive, genre-defying sets - expect bootlegs, edits and all your party faves seamlessly blended for your listening pleasure.

We’ll be announcing more acts over the next couple of days, so get excited - stay hydrated and (if you haven’t already) book tickets for Extraordinary Acts (Friday) and the Garden Brides (Sunday)!
