Now she’s out of a job, the 5-day White House press secretary Katie Zacharia and her old boss took our kids trick or treating in Norwich…. Huge thanks to the good people of Drayton who went over and above to decorate their gardens and were so generous with the refined sugar… lots of very happy dinosaurs/ werewolves/ evil pumpkins etc 🎃🎃🎃 by @subs_please_check

Nelson, our Norfolk Grey cockerel died today; he was old and slowing down, we expected it, I know that if you have livestock, you have dead stock, but we are all so sad • Here he is in his prime, keeping the orchard safe for his ladies 🖤🍏🍎 by @subs_please_check

Hounds met in the neighbouring village a few weekends ago, and I hacked over with Romy on the lead rein on her Thelwell pony 🐾 I love this estate, which always makes me think of the house in The Go-Between (the film was shot at Melton Constable Hall, not far from here) and the timeless scenes of horses and hounds doing their thing - these days hunting a trail laid by dragging a smelly sock 🧦 from a quad bike, of course by @subs_please_check

Oops… I did some serious journalism again…

📚Thrilled to have got the 📚BATTLE FOR BOOKS 📚 on the cover of @spectator1828 along with brilliant Lara Brown

📚I had the privilege of interviewing @jared.cooney.horvath last week - his book The Digital Delusion sets out in stark terms how EdTech in schools is damaging our children’s learning 📚

📚 If you’re as horrified as I’ve been by online homework, school-issued iPads/ Chrome Books etc, buy the mag and his book, out now in the UK, for all the evidence you need to take it to your headteacher and beg/ demand a return to 📚pens and paper ✍🏻✏️✒️📚

“This revolution will not be televised, but fought on a diet of pens, paper and joined-up handwriting” 💪💪💪
