🌸Vans Sk8-Hi Hokusai Collection by @suburbanmemories & @birk.w

For this collaboration @birk.w and I both chose a painting by the famous Traditional Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. They are famous for a few key painting like The Great Wave and Red Fuji. We imagined how these painting could be tastefully translated to sneakers and this is what we came up with!

Throughout the 3 years I’ve been creating footwear designs in Photoshop to share with you all, I’ve created well over 200 different designs. This post is to share some of my favorite designs throughout these years!

🌖Dusk vs. 🌄 Dawn - Puma Speedcat concepts by @suburbanmemories & @birk.w

We took a Western-inspired design direction and gave it two distinct spins. Instead of a standard collab, we wanted to try something new: same theme, two completely different executions. 🌵

HeartGold x SoulSilver ASICS Concept Collection by @birk.w & @suburbanmemories

In celebration of the Pokémon 30th anniversary arriving soon, we wanted to created a concept pack inspired by one of the most iconic generations of Pokémon!

This collection is inspired by Ho-Oh and Lugia from Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. We also took the time to design some Pokémon cards inspired by the reprints from the new 30th anniversary set.

Custom Zoom Vomero 5 “Amberwood” by @suburbanmemories

I finally was able to successfully pull off a dip dye customization! I found these Zoom Vomero 5s for a good price and decided to dip dye them and also swap the laces out for some fuzzy fluffy laces.

I’m hoping to get more into customization this year, let me know if you would wear these!

Puma Speedcat “Sweet Tooth” Concepts by @suburbanmemories & @birk.w

Many people have a sweet tooth, for most it varies which their favorite is. For this collection we took the approach of choosing two different categories of sweets and creating Puma Speedcats for Candy and Ice Cream.

Candy - Inspired by various gummy candies; Swedish Fish, Gummy Sharks, Gummy Eggs, Cola Bottles, and more!

Ice cream - Inspired by the variety of flavors and toppings you would see at an ice cream shop; including Mint Chip, Vanilla, Strawberry, waffle cones, and more!

Jordan 4 Wedding Lace Concept by @suburbanmemories

For this design I took inspiration from white lace often found on wedding dresses or fancy table runners.

I first drafted this design a couple years ago but decided to revisit and improve it a bit. I real love how these turned out and styling them with black dress pants or denim would be perfect.

🔥 FIRE vs. ❄️ ICE — Concept Collection

This time we explored the tension between warm and cool — one shoe for each side.

FIRE — Patent leather dripping in Swarovski-style crystals over a black-to-orange gradient.

ICE — Frosty distressed suede with a textured midsole and chrome accents.

Blue Porcelain Vans Old Skool Concept by @suburbanmemories

As my next addition to the blue porcelain series I created the Blue Porcelain Vans Old Skool! One of the most classic silhouettes out there, I grew up wearing vans.

On this design I went for a cracked leather with suede and canvas accent, staying in theme with some of my other Blue Porcelain shoes.

🦋 Puma Klim “Metamorphosis” Concept Collection by @suburbanmemories & @birk.w

Which are you picking, Luna or Metallic Day?

This collection is inspired by some of our favorite winged insects! When researching for this collection we found so many beautiful moths and butterflies and took note of the vibrant colors and complex textures that often make up their wings.

Luna Moth: A rare moth often found in North America with a light green color with dark maroon accents.

Metallic Day Moth: A beautiful moth from South America which features vibrant greens, teals, orange, and black.

Pokémon x Nike Dunk Low “Unown” Concept by @suburbanmemories

One of the most fascinating Pokémon to me has always been Unown. There are so many variations and their similarity to hieroglyphs has always caught my attention. I used to have a whole collection of these while playing Heart Gold and Soul Silver in an attempt to catch one of each type.
