Although the issues that plague our country (the world really) need to be combated all year round, I did not want June / Pride to come to a close without letting it be known that Black Trans Lives Matter and they matter to me. To add to me, may seem like a minor detail but I hope the weight of those words somehow helps the statement resonate more with myself and how I active this sentiment moving forward. It’s so interesting that without planning to I have been spending the month of June talking about Black Trans lives with other Cis-gendered people. Talking about our own privileges and biases. I am learning. I am shitting bricks to get it wrong too lol but how else do people learn? As we look to our white brothers and sisters to read and research and talk amongst themselves , I (we) have to learn as well, and transparency has always been my second language, after poetry of course. So let us be reminded that as we continue fighting against oppression and police terrorism both overt and covert, we have to actively remember not to leave our people, any of our people out because they are OURS. And if 2020 has taught me anything is we need help, we need our fellow human beings to care. #blacktranslivesmatter by @subvertedsolo

Exposed. Please watch the narratives me we spin. I have heard people bring up mental illness to ease, excuse, explain, justify, or reason with how people like her could act like this. I would just like to remind those people that Weaponless BLACK HUMANS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THE STREETS BY THE POLICE. by @subvertedsolo
