In 1997, Guo Gangtang’s life changed forever when his two-year-old son disappeared while playing near their home in China.

Refusing to give up, Guo left his job and spent the next 24 years traveling across China on motorcycles, searching for his missing son. He reportedly covered around 500,000 km and went through multiple motorcycles during his journey.

But his search became bigger than his own family. Along the way, Guo helped more than 100 other families look for their missing children.

Then, in 2021, after 24 years of searching, authorities found a possible match in Henan. DNA testing confirmed what Guo had spent decades hoping for — the man was his long-lost son.

At 26 years old, his son finally returned home, bringing an emotional end to a 24-year search.
